How much cash are you willing to pay for a logo? I suggest $75-$150 for a high-quality logo, however it is up to you.

We are willing to pay whatever it takes to get something we like. Submit your ideas/proposal and an asking price please.

jag,

Hi!

Got anything to add to the specification? What should be the text? What is the dimension (width x height) in pixels?
If you have not specified it, then I am assuming that we are free whatever the dimension is.

Please reply soon! PM was sent to you, but no action was taken. I understand that sometimes time is not on our side so we will have to wait for your answers here then.

We hope to finish it soon so that we can move on to our next promo -- website templates!

Thank you.

Just to follow up, I know you don't want to spend $5,000-8,000 but GOOD logo design does not = $75-100, althought a $75-100 logo should do fine in this case.

You're right in that 75-$100 will not get you the best logo, but then again those who are aiming for the best of the best are not surfing on forums such as these.

Attached is my first try.
I can remove the stripe background, add a pattern to it, change its shape, change its size, remove the outlines.
I can change the color, add/remove effects to the jaguar.
I can change the color and add/remove effects to the text.
I can add a patternized/styled background that will suit your website, if needed.
I can also change the size of the jag or the text, but in my opinion (and I tried different sizes) this size looks the best.

P.S. I can also Remove the Jaguar and enlarge it, to make a background of it, or something similiar.

The attached logo is copyrighted to me untill sold.

Nice job! What font is it?
Try to make it about 25% larger, it will show better.

I see that we are all asking the correct questions.

Where else is the logo to be used besides web? Print i.e. Letterhead, envlopes, business cards.

Is it possible that it will be used on clothing? Screened or embroidered?

Do you want to incurr the cost of a 4 color process or just 2 color?

All of these factors come into play when designing.

Okay, I didn't really have much time to do anything or to put anything together really, but this is the general idea. I thought the vt100 font that's on the monitor in this "cool logo" I made, is probably the most authentic depictation of this image.

http://www.chatbase.com/jaguarpc_cool_new_logo.jpg

Sorry, I just had to. If you like, I can finish it. Heh.

PS: Yes, this is a joke... note the terminal text.

PSS: Yes, I'm not a "graphics artist", and although I can do better, this was no attempt to be creative.

PSSS: Yes, this image was 'created' by me -- after I found some images to use by doing some quick searches (you've got to admit, that's a cool picture of a jaguar though).

PSSSS: Yes, using this would probably result in multiple law suits.

There are no color restrictions and this is a logo request not just for the website but for the company to be used both on the site and by itself. Don't design just around our site or sites colors, we can adapt our site to accomadate a great design.

imago-allan

I see. Thank you.

Well, you did not really give us a guide what sort of things can catch your eye. So we are in the dark trying to squeeze out ideas without any direction. Too bad we didn't please you.

We would have appreciated it if you give us an example logo that catches your attention so that we will know which direction to proceed.

If you are still interested to get another entry from us, please provide guidelines to help set our paths - an example logo perhaps?

Thanks.

P.S. And by the way, we are professionals!. Our design artist has been designing for more than five years and have done several logo designs before he joined us.

EDIT: I believe this contest should end up having a winner. Otherwise, it may not be a contest at all. You did not mention that you are free not to choose a winner. Correct me if I am wrong. And we have already spent significant amount of time doing the conceptualization of the logo. It would be unfair to all of us.

:)

I think you waste more time beating up a dead horse. Let's close this thread.

Tim Greer

I think you guy's are taking it too personally that he didn't like the work he saw enough to pay for it. Contest or not, there's no need to make more out of it than there is. Everyone has their own tastes, that's just how it is. I'm pretty sure he wasn't saying no one was professional, but I wouldn't expect him to pay for the best out of all the designs, when he didn't think any were really good enough. It's nothing offensive, I don't think and I think people are getting the wrong idea. I mean, I just tossed together a joke image, but I believe if I wanted to, I could have created an image better than the one's I saw. I'm saying this as a non-designer. That is just my tastes though, it's not to say that some weren't pretty good for what they were, but just that... well, nevermind, I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea of what I'm trying to say. However, to put it simply, ask for a guide of what he wants, if that's what he wants to do/give out, but don't complain and assume the contest wasn't genuine because he didn't think what was posted was quality enough.

Jag
05-05-2002, 12:54 PM
Hold on guys and gals!

Did anyone see me say at anytime that any or all of you are "unprofessional" ? I didn't so don't put words in my mouth. Did I say that I wasn't going to choose a post here ? No . In fact I said if a new entry is posted that I like then yes I will buy it, that hasn't happened yet.

I at no point said to close this thread and don't want it closed. If you have an entry that might win, since there isnt a winner yet, then post it. I would love to have a winner since that would mean I finally got what I wanted from this thread. There is some decent work here and In this thread Ive given as much guidleline as I can with what we want. If you can't design based on that then kndly move on, its no big deal.

There is one or two that I have on a maybe list but nothing that hit me like I had hoped just yet.

Regards,
Greg

Greg,

Thanks for your post. Like I've said we are looking for an example to get us in the right direction. I also scan the thread again to look for guidelines. What you have given is only this:

"There are no prerequisites, design away to your brains imagination. "

That is the reason why we cannot seem to get what you really want. I hope you understand.

Well, if there is no more "clear cut" guideline on where you want the logo design to go to, we will not be able to design a new entry. Sorry. We just leave our entries for your decision. However, should you be willing to post what you really want, we can probably work out another design for you.

Thanks. And sorry if we misunderstood your post.

:)

In other posts here I stated what we want, here is a recap
;
-A design that is from your own imagination, otherwise we'd just do our own again.

- A coporate image, used on both our site and able to stand alone on business cards, buildings, ads, office walls.

- It does not have to have a jaguar in it , but at the same time I don't care if it does have one it in.

- I do not care if the colors are the ones on our site, use the whole color spectrum, we will work around it to make it fit the site.

- Size doesnt matter, anything can be resized. To give you an idea , one that I was most interested in yet on this thread was http://www.timechange.com/wht/jaguarpc.gif
