View Full Version : Host for Multiple Domains w/ Separate Dir.s?
Hi,
Any recommendations for a host that:
1) stays current with PHP versions;
2) offers decent storage and transfer amounts;
3) provides decent support;
4) is affordable; and
5) supports multiple domains with pointing to a serparate directory (another root of the hosted directory or a sub-directory) ?
PHPWebHosting fulfills all the above, except they do not support multiple domains (well, of course they do if a user signs up for additional account ;) ). HostRocket does not support multiple domains and is not always current with PHP. Alwayswebhosting unfortunately remains at php 4.0.6, though offers unlimited domains to separate directories. I guess a combo of alwayswebhosting and phpwebhosting would fulfill my needs :).
I read several messages on this forum and have not found much discussions on accounts requiring multiple domains pointing to separate directories/sub-directories, so hopefully others may benefit from this discussion.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Change 04-08-2002, 07:16 PM Site5.com (http://www.site5.com/) meets all your demands, been using them myself for the past 3 months now.
Another option for you would be to take a reseller package. That's what I'm probably gonna change to in a few weeks (Voxtreme (http://www.voxtreme.com/)).
Aletia offers that, too. Though I warn you, some people aren't too happy with them right now. I am, however, happy.
I didn't know site5 offered that, cool.

You could also do a reseller at HostCulture and their prices are decent. http://hostculture.com/reseller_info.php
If you have several domains for plan to get more, you might want to look into a reseller package. :)
AlexNguyen 04-09-2002, 05:04 PM Suggestions:
1)reseller account with Splashhost - good service but the owner is in England. You might have to wait a few hours while he is sleeping.
2)multiple accounts with Dixiesys/3-95.com. Very good service and the pricing is almost too inexpensive. :)

Why? Is narcolepsy a problem over there? :D
Cyberswami 04-09-2002, 08:18 PM Get a reseller account with MCHost and you can host as many sites as you want. Easy and simple!
The Thinker 04-09-2002, 09:14 PM ...a Canadian company. We have multiple accounts, all with different folders.
http://www.myasphosting.com
Their site says that you can only resell the big plan....but if you ask permission before you sign up for any account, they will let you resell on any other accounts.....giving each domain a totally separate area, username and password....
Really, they have been great to us. Whatever we have asked for, we have been given....even stuff they don't advertise on their site. In some cases, they have implemented something on the server we are on, specifically for us. Of course, we pay a small fee in cases like that....but it's a very fair fee because we both know they can now resell that new service to other clients on the same server...
xharine 04-10-2002, 05:36 AM I'm with www.ecommercediscovery.com and you can email support and ask for multiple domain support.....
or u can also try www.httpme.com They offer multi domain support, and each domain has it's own ctrl panel.
clemzonguy 04-10-2002, 08:59 AM Also:
gearhost.com - multiple domains , separate directories
ehostpros.com - multiple domains, separate accounts
That gal on dynahosts.com sure POPS out at you.

*some*??????????? there's a few more than that honey. aletia's servers are constantly going down, support is horrible, and they keep charging customers after they cancel their accounts.
