I need a Newsletter management script which I want to offer my csutomers.
I would prefer it to be PHP, I want to be able to offer membership at a monthly fee, but also offer it for free to start with (or maybe membership levels). PayPal Integrated.

I need one that allows me to add text at the end of the newsletter code set by the customers,
e.g. 'To unsubscribe, email someone@someone.com'.

I dont really want to spend much on it so what can you recommend me?

Will phplist (http://tincan.co.uk/phplist) work?

Are you open to commercial solutions or does it have to be free/open source?

You can see a number of free, open source and commercial newsletter management systems here: Hotscripts.com -> PHP -> Mailing List Managers (http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Mailing_List_Managers/index.html).

I dont mind paying, but would limit it to about 50 quid. But would prefer a free one (well..obviously :)).

I will take a look at hotscripts, but find it annoying and time consuming trying to distinguish which are membership types and which are for personal use (to allow only me to manage my list rather than offer the service).

linuxhostinguk,

If you actually want to sell this type of service and you are on a limited budget, have you considered reselling an existing solution?

This will let you get going with minimal up front costs and then once you are more established you can purchase hosting + software to do this yourself.

Check out these options:
Resell Constant Contact (http://reseller.constantcontact.com/signup/about_the_program.jsp)
Bronto Agency (http://bronto.com/products/agency/)
Google Search -> resell email marketing (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=resell+email+marketing&btnG=Search)

Thanks for the advice, but i dont want to re-sell other companies products.

I just want a script to offer my customers an extra service. There has got to be a fairly cheap script out there somewhere that suits my needs (even one without membersip levels will do), its just a matter of finding it, which is why im here, to ask others.

It does allow you to add user accounts, so they manage own lists.

Multiple List managers. One Super user can assign lists to multiple list managers, who can control their own pool of users and lists. The Super user can "prepare" messages that can be chosen by list managers to send to any of the lists they control.

Test it out - it's free, and quick to install through Fantastico or without.

Your description pretty much screams 1-2-All from Active Campaign, http://www.activecampaign.com

We're doing the exact thing you're describing -- reselling logins/accounts on it -- and each site owner can completely rebrand it/bury it in their website's code.

It costs $159 USD for 5 admin logins, you will be able to resell 4 of those logins. (The 1st admin account is yours and you need it to manage the installation) Then you can purchase more logins thereafter at a very reasonable rate. You'll recoup your fees within a few months.

Excellent product and it has the functionality you described!

:D Bailey Bingo. I was looking for a newsletter app for a long time and came across 1-2-All and it turns out they are local in my hometown. These folks are the same people that bring you support trio helpdesk and have a very competent development team and seem to know what there enduser is looking for as far as features and functionality goes. You really can't beat the price for what you are getting.

My second choice was from Omnistar for about $70.00 but I think I made the right choice:)

Does anyone have a recommendation in which a subscriber will automatically receive a weekly or bi-weekly automated message.

I am seeking a solution in which I create a database of newsletters and then each week an email is sent out, however not everyone will get the same email. Basically whenever someone signs up they will get a copy of a newsletter starting at #1 while others may receive #10 while others will receive #20, etc...

Any recommendations?

Have you checked hotscripts?

I've looked at hotscripts but only find programs that will send a newsletter out to a list vs going back and sending any previously sent newseletters to new subscribers without my input. Does Send Studio do that?

I'm using PHPList which is great to send a current copy to my list, but lets say I've already sent 10 newsletters, ideally I would like it that when someone signs up for my newsletter they will automatically get previously sent newsletter.

N8Webs, 1-2-All can do that as well.
