I am currently evaluating exa-bytes.com (reseller plan RW1) for Windows hosting. I'm looking for current or past Exa-bytes resellers who can comment on their level of service. I am particularly interested in server up-time, and support services. I’ve searched the forum but I can’t find anything that would help me.
Thanks!
Support was very good when I was there.
Uptime was about 100% when they were with OnRamp but OnRamp but their server went down after their upstream provider (A subcontractor of OnRamp) went out of business.
They have moved to VenturesOnline since then and I must admitt that their support (Specially Chan) was very good.
I sually received replies in less than 1-3 hour.

Yes EXA BYTES were off-line for over one week. This is the problem when you use resellers who are basically resellers but try to give the impression that they are not. My advice would be to go to the top of the food chain not the bottom. So when EXA BYTES are offline again at least you wont have to tell your customers that their site and email wont be off for 10 days!

Service is still very poor and I wouldn't use them ever again. I could post their poor response to technical issues but I wont bother. From now on I will always use top quality hosts who offer first class support. I currently have five dedicated servers with One & One and I have to say I am well impressed. One problem that was sorted within 1 hour with One & One sadly EXA BYTES took several days with one issue and still couldn't resolve it and failed to offer a reason for the fault. Try telling your customer that your incompetent reseller couldn't resolve the fault!

less than 1-3 hour, you are kidding Chan runs the outfit and gives the impression that there are other employees. This is nonsense as its just him. Also try phoning him. When you get a major fault and your sites are constantly offline then try to get a reply! Believe me they are a joke. I wont waste my bucks on resellers reselling hosting ever again. With One & One I know that they are responsible for the bandwidth and infrastructure not a third party incompetent reseller.
Also One & One have their own web designers and management teams giving a well informed website unlike EXA BYTES who purchase Templates from Template Monster sadly they have not even bothered to customise the template but merely add more confusion login boxes after login boxes after more login boxes. Ring any bells:
templatemonster. com/category.php?cat=&type=1&search_words=web+hosting&action=search_keyword&order=date&from=23
Exclusive (template will be removed from website) - price $490 - its still there & only $43

You have replied to my 19 months old message! Things have changed very much since then.
Since then I have refered some people to exa-bytes and as I do not have windows dedicated servers I have obtained a windows reseller account from chan and it has been very stable.
It has been a long downtime there recently? I have not mentioned it. As I host most of the accounts on my own servers I do not check them most of the time.

It seems to me like he person whom brought back this thread is either really bored, or has ALOT of time on his hands.

I think he personally has a very bad experience with them.
And when he saw there's a thread praising exa-bytes, he just can't stand and spit out what he thinks.. :)

Sorry I didn’t actually note the date you originally posted. Service is still very poor on the whole. This also says lots if I and others are still experiencing the same problems.

Perhaps you have been fortunate. I know of three EXA customers who feel the same as myself. One has already left like me to One & One and the other two are currently looking.

You simply cant sustain this kind of service for your customers, you have hit the nail on the head long downtime is not acceptable but to make matters far worse EXA takes days to respond and simply cannot offer a solution in most cases.

I take your point but I merely searched for EXA BYTES to find any relevant info. Its important to offer your experience so other folks can make an informed choice. EXA BYTES, Chan that is, blows his trumpet throughout this forum. I guess what I am saying is that its not a bed of roses. Also if you had experienced the appalling service like myself and others from EXA BYTES then you would sympathise. I assume that you have never used EXA BYTES.

As I stated to 'delri' cyberultraI merely noted the subject line. I have posted my experience with EXA BYTES but I am not sure what both you and delri's point is with regards to the original subject line. If you have used EXA BYTES services please let us know your experience with the reseller?
