All hosting I see around the place have what seems to me to be lower diskspace and very high bandwidth, can some explain why this is so.
Are there places that have say 15 gig diskspace and 30 bandwidth? Or is this just not a done thing.

There are places with half disk space to bandwidth however it is rather odd to have such packages, you may want to ask if a host can customize the specifications to meet your needs.

Servers generally comes with hard disks of certain sizes, say 80-200GB, and say 1000-2000GB of data transfer. Hosts then make packages out of these, so they tend to keep similar space/data transfer ratios.

the reason you see transfer rates so much more than storage is overselling. Hosts can oversell the transfer alot easier than storage space. However, both are done. ldcdc is right, you usually get around 10-12 times more transfer than storage space on a server. This is why you see these plans everywhere. A custom plan would be in your best interest.

Yeah, I would find a couple of hosts you like and contactr them. Tell them what it is you need and request a quote. Most hosts will work with you.
there are several reseller hosts that will allow you to create fully custom packages. from what you describe, this is exactly what you need.
good luck with your quest!
