Due to uncontrollable circumstances, eXscape Communications Inc. is unable to continue operations in New York. All customers may have connectivity til Tuesday, April 9th at 11:59. After the above said date, we will no longer be able to offer any services and will immediately return all customer equipment (customers will incur fee for the return of their equipment by a us carrier).

We are no longer accepting phone calls. If you are a customer or are concerned, please email support@exscape.net

Again, we are sorry that it had to come down to the way it did.

CFO

That is all we got. They do not respond to anything and their service is ALREADY disrupted although their GENEROUS 24h time frame...

We have 1 server with them and ordered a 2nd one 3 days ago and they happily accepted our 300$ setupf fee payment. We are currently in negotiations with a US based lawyer and are in contact with the Internet Fraud Department of the FBI.

Thought I warn you in case they are still accepting new orders

Status report:
... they contacted me and promised to refund the latest payment for the server I never got. Since they have always been honest I regard this as done.

Also they will try, no promises, to keep my server life until Friday so I can move the sites to other servers I have... Time to order another one I guess

Their LATEest response has given me confidence again and shows very good business behaviour. I am very sad to see them go because they were very good... maybe TOO good (and honest) to survive in todays "legitimite-scam-hosting-business"...

Why didnt that lame layout, and ripped photo of the dog touching the keyboard (Which is about 5 years old) tip you off?

Umm, yea, but didnt the layout and the ripped photo tell you anything?

It's 15 year old layout work.

... but they were recommended to me by someone who was doing business with them and is of course now sitting "in the same boat" with me allright.

I had frequent contact with their staff, they worked with real signed service contracts and were very professional and flexible. Their network was based on NAC and a backup provider and were very competent in resoluting really bigtime server isssues concerning RedHat and/or the software running on it. Also the uptime was REAL 99% and all this for over two months...

With all that I didn't really care about any website so you don't have to point it out again ;)
It is just that they are either a "long term scam" which is a little too far out IMHO or really Chapter 11.

What pissed me off was the fact that 3 days before they happily accepted a setup fee for a server they knew would never come IMHO. As if they said "Hey we are going down so why not f*** everyone before we do..."

No mention on the site as yet of cease of business.
The order form is still active and asking for credit card details.

maybe they started hosting too many irc servers? =)
as they had one first on quakenet, and then one on undernet since a month or sth.
btw. they were hosted on DJCN as i saw by some traceroutes.
although, NAC states "no bots, bouncers and all that stuff" but they'r hosting an EFnet Server and one of their costumers - exscape hosted one Undernet and one Quakenet IRC Server ... funny.
anyway ... i love companys hosting IRC Servers, as i love IRC :)
so no offending here, contrariwise. always sad to see when servers are shut down (mostly because of too many dos attacks but bankruptcy is another)

Before the eXscape.net established, it was Zerosoft.net which I have used to be their customer in Y2k. I have sent a server and colo there, the CEO is Tony, he is a nice guy and at that time, I have no knowledge in managing a server, so I always asked him to fix some problems, he is slow in support.

Their network was hacked and so need about 1 week to fix the problem, I could do nothing but wait...

And finally why I leave them because they said my server was demaged and ask me to send another one or buy it from them. So, I can't extract my old servers files, and start from zero again. :bawling:

I think this is all I experienced before eXscape.net become mature.
