I receive > 300 e-mails a day, most of them are from previous e-mails, replies, etc...

Big companies, always reply with a tracking number - And that somehow gets routed - And tracked, and saved, etc... I want to do this somehow :)

The only thing I thought was making all my emails go to my helpdesk, which it would then do that... BUT

Is there any other way? Because with the help desk I can only view email over the web, etc... I want to continue using Outlook to view, reply, etc all my email... But I was thinking there must be some system that it goes through a system, and assigns it to a tracking number... And when its in my inbox it has a tracking number.. I can reply to it.. It sends it to them.... ETc..

Anyone know about this? :)

I have been considering using ticketsmith for this, however you cannot use outlook express if you do that. I would also be interested in an email management software product if anyone knows of any.

FocusOn718 - Have you found anything that looks promising over the last couple of weeks?

Unforunately - No :(

I'll really miss my outlook.. or any just plain old normal email client.

Request Tracker will do exactly what you're looking for (and a lot more, if you want).

You can get it free at:
http://www.fsck.com/projects/rt/

IMHO, it's the best help desk/email tracking system out there (free or otherwise).
