View Full Version : Difference between an HTTPme and a SonataWeb?

Hi,
I have 2 reseller accounts: one at HTTPme and one at SonataWeb. And I'm just looking for general opinions about which course I should take.

HTTPme has been perfect for the past 2 years I've subscribed, but was overkill for my needs. I was trying to downgrade from HTTPme to Sonataweb, but I didn't get the reliability I needed from Sonataweb (their site down, my home page erroring, etc.).

My problem is, I host one business site that requires high reliability, and the others are all non-paying charitable groups with small sites. So HTTPme is overkill, where as Sonataweb, though very marvelously cheap, isn't able to provide the high reliability I require. Or so it appears.

If I should shop for something else, can anyone tell me what price range I should expect to be looking at for minimal bandwidth and high reliability?

Hi Bobata,

I understand your frustrations with us, as we have had a number of problems spring up in the last couple of weeks/months. Combined with our moves to our own rack at GNAX, on all new servers, we've been extremely busy. I can promise you though, as soon as we finish up with these moves, the reliability and speed of the servers will be just absolutely wonderful. As UH-Matt once said, what we're going through is a short term pain for a long term gain.

You can contact us at anytime through the helpdesk, or through our toll free number (1-888-533-2583) and we'll be more than happy to show you some new cool features that we're bringing online for added redundancy, and more pleasant hosting experience.

For example, what does minimal bandwidth mean to you? Besides, because of various economic reasons, reseller accounts generally come with amounts that are not exactly "minimal". :)

Looks like your host is working on the problems, I would stick around as long as things don't get too bad with them.

Personally, I believe that Ino is doing what he can to improve the overall quality. I would at least wait until "it's over" before considering a move, but that's just me.

Good luck! :)

Hi bobata,

I'm one of the resellers at SonataWeb too.

I agree with some of the guys here that sticking to them until they solve the problem. I believe none of the hosting company here doesn't have downtime problem. My account had been transfered to a new server almost 1 month ago, and it suffered some minimal inevitable downtime as well, but i'm still with them as I believe this is just a short term pain. Now my site loads in a faster speed compared to when I was in the old P4 server.

Anyway, good luck to you and SonataWeb. :)

The Sonataweb connectivity issues seem to have died down. I blame dell for the problems they had but hey everyone needs a scapegoat.

Sounds like I should stick it out. I'll contact them and let them know about my recent issues.

Thanks again,
Barbara

I'm in the same boat really.

To be safe, my moved my important site to elitehosts.com.

I'm keeping my sonata reseller account until thing stabilize...then i'll most likely move my important site back to sonata.
