View Full Version : Knowledgebase/FAQ Scripts?
ASO-Douglas 08-26-2005, 07:38 PM I'm looking for a good knowledge base script as well as a good FAQ script. I'm going to try FAQ Master Flex or whatever it is called, but don't know of a good knowledge base script.
Anyone have any suggestions of scripts they've used before that work well? I need one that's compatible with cPanel/PHP/MySQL.
Thanks!
Jamie Harrop 08-27-2005, 06:40 AM Kayako eSupport provides a very nice support centre, incorporating a knowledgebase. If you are looking for a seperate knowledge base, Douglas, take a look at http://php.resourceindex.com and http://www.hotscripts.com I am sure there is something there to meet your requirements.
ASO-Douglas 08-27-2005, 10:36 AM I know about Kayako, but it costs money - I'm looking for a free one. Most of the ones on HotScripts cost money as well (that are any good).
Jamie Harrop 08-27-2005, 10:46 AM If you are looking for something of quality, Douglas, then you are no doubt going to have to spend a bit of money.
ASO-Douglas 08-27-2005, 10:50 AM Actually, I've found a rather good helpdesk for free, and many forum systems are quite good, and are free, so I don't know. I think you need to know where to look.
RRolfe 08-27-2005, 10:52 AM Give Lore from Pineapple Technologies a try. It seems to work pretty good as a knowledge base script.
ASO-Douglas 08-27-2005, 10:54 AM Yeah, if I wanted to spend the money, I think that'd be worth it, but for now, I just want something relatively simple, but still pretty good (that's free).
rootsupport 08-27-2005, 11:24 AM You can check http://www.thefreecountry.com/php/faqmaker.shtml for few free scripts.
ThinkSupport 08-27-2005, 04:11 PM Did you try http://hotscripts.com ?
ASO-Douglas 08-27-2005, 04:29 PM Yes, I already did. I searched SourceForge and came up with: http://kbpublisher.sourceforge.net/
It is much better than it looks there.
VN-Ken 09-02-2005, 10:33 PM I'm not sure of any free one's, but ActiveCampaign has something called KnowledgeBuilder (http://www.activecampaign.com/kb/) which it costs however, but it has a 30 day MBG.
Anyways, good luck with your search.
i-devs 05-06-2006, 11:34 AM Take a look at www.phpmyfaq.de. Very nice open source system, very helpful development team. Helpful forum as well, mostly in German, but their is a section focused on English and at least the lead developer is very fluent.
VER-Mo 05-11-2006, 02:43 PM When I was just starting out I used FAQ Master Flex and I was able to customize it so that it fit in well with the design of my website. It worked quite well generally speaking, and to top it off it was free...I don't think you will need more than that. If you are willing to spend a little then the one that comes with Kayako eSupport is pretty good too.
