Just like to point out that maybe the fact you can not post referral links in signatures should be added to the "Custom User Titles and Signatures" list of rules.
I checked that section of the rules page before putting a Referral Link in my signature. And it said nothing about this not being allowed. so I went ahead and put it in my sig.
Now that it has been pointed out to me that this rule is further up the page under "general rules". I realize it's my fault for not checking all the rules, that's fine. I just think it should also be mentiond in the section that covers signature rules.
The closest that section comes to mentioning links is "May include two clickable links." and "May not contain links to other threads or posts."
just a thought so others don't get confused as I did

You may not post commission, referral or affiliate links anywhere on the forum.
What's so tough to understand?

I didn't say it was tough to understand... please re-read my post and you'll see I was commenting that it should be duplicated in the section about signatures, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that has jumped to that section to read what rules apply to signatures.
I feel that if anything is not allowed in my signature that that's where I should find the rule about it.
I said it was my mistake for jumping to that section..i fully take that blame. just trying to help others not make the same mistake.

We are working on making that page easier to read and understand.
We will definitly take this into consideration.
Thanks!

Maybe a popup window, with the rules, that follows the mouse cursor anytime they are on WHT? :stickout:
Just not sure how much more simple you can make rules...

I find the present format quite easy to follow.
But, that might have to do with my relationship to the author.
We're working on something that is in Plain English that includes lots of sub-titles . . . I think. I'm still confused by the simplistic version. But, we'll see what it's like when it's all together.

What I'm wondering is why people don't read all of the rules in the first place.
Might be too complicated for just an FAQ, but you could setup a database with FAQ snippets and assign multiple parent categories, so the Q&A's are consistent.

I signed up a couple of years ago and had read the rules.. but didn't remeber exactly what they were so when I went to check I jumped down to the section on signatures to see if there was any rule about not placing referral links in your sig. Since I didn't see it listed as a no no there I went ahead.
As I said my mistake. but I hope something they may be fixed so others don't do the same :)
