Question for all. I opened a site about two and half weeks ago. In the past week the googlebot has used almost 4 gigs of bandwidth and registered almost 135,000 hits. I don't mind so much it using the bandwidth but there are only 3 indexed pages. What gives?

There might be some sort of script syntax error causing the bot to fault and thereby hang...

I think googlebot is deeply crawling, perhaps it has returned after long absence I guess, hopefully this will lead to a good update.

Unless the bot got stuck in a loop and is just going around in a circle. Sucking up bandwidth for nothing.

Maybe he is to bussy, becuase alot of people are placing website's online, and even more people are submitting it to google.

btw, what is your site?

I've never seen a bot sucking so much bandwith (yet).
