Hi ppl,

I have to ask you about Whois Blacklist Status. Actually I bought a domain a few days ago. I haven't parked it anywhere yet. Its still running as 'Coming Soon' on the domain company I got it from. Now when I do whois.sc/mydomain.com it shows all things plus the following line:


Blacklist Status: Clear - Last blocked 2005-03-07 (history)


Im confused about all these. Is my domain blacklisted or has been blacklisted in the past? Will it affect my ranking etc. in search engines?

I wouldn't lose sleep over it. It probably relates to the IP address associated with your registrar's Name Servers. You have to remember, that thousands and thousands of domain names are sharing the same parking IP address. If just one of those people get accused of sending out spam, then the entire IP address gets blacklisted. Then, eventually it get's cleared, and then someone else gets reported, and then it gets cleared. It's a never ending cycle.
