How 2 check uptime ?
kartiksh 08-25-2005, 01:56 AM if you want a precise uptime of a website then you would have to upload software to monitor that and do some math to findout. But if you are looking for network uptime as per ezzi.net it is 24/7 365 days available all the time http://www.ezzi.net/home/datacenter/index.cfm
The website/server uptime is diffrent which can also be monitored via website like netcraft. You can check that for ezzi at http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=www.ezzi.net (the uptime here means, days since last reboot)
This is what i knew from my knowlege, i am not claiming any of this as ezzi.net official reply.
kartiksh 08-25-2005, 01:59 AM Also from the datacenter page of ezzi.net website
EZZI guarantees 99.5% network uptime for dedicated server customers.
web_host_guy_007 08-25-2005, 07:44 AM I think they just started to provide VPS. I had contacted them few days back but they informed me that they cannot guarantee the reliability of VPS servers.
I think they are disclosing the name of their Data center.
http://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_report?url=http://ezzi.net
If your customer checks the above URL then he will assume that you are buying hosting services through ezzi.
What about Plesk power pack?
Is there any discounts available if I pay yearly after testing the service for 1 month?
web_host_guy_007 08-25-2005, 08:23 AM I just contacted them and I got a reply within 5 minutes. It was a sales related query. Their pricing is also good...
For this offer:
WIN-VPS-300!
40GB Disk Space!
300GB Transfer!
512MB Min RAM!
Plesk Unlimited Domains!
$42/month
Is that month to month or a contract?
kartiksh 08-25-2005, 11:08 AM akny, yes its month to month.
web_host_guy_007, you have to pay first month normal price then if you wish to prepay for 1 year, you would be offered 10% discount.
attila 08-25-2005, 05:26 PM How about management and technical support for the Windows VPS?
web_host_guy_007 08-25-2005, 11:55 PM Ezzi.net doen't provide MS SQL Support with their VPS plans. They however provide plesk power pack and MS SQL is included with power pack. But it seesm that they are unaware about that.
I also came to know that they will not help you in any manner after the setup. If you want them to login for any issues then you have to pay USD 75 Per hour which is very very costly.
So beware of these things before falling into the trap.
samdax 08-26-2005, 04:26 AM $22 per month for hosting and $75 per hour if something go wrong with their hosting
wow

wow
If it is harware or network related problem it is not covered under support price i.e. it is free. if custom installation configuration etc required they will charge the rate.
attila 08-28-2005, 12:09 PM I’m not to familiar with Windows VPS, how do I go about restarting the server, is it going to cost me $75 dollar every time I ask for support to do it?
Is the RAM burstable?
Can you confirm that the Windows VPS are 100 % self managed with no support?
Do you monitor the server in which the VPS are hosted?
Thanks

Hi, what can i do if I wanna this plan?
go to sign up the website? but how can they give me this offer?
thanks
web_host_guy_007 08-29-2005, 12:01 AM I had done numerous research on various VPS packages and came to know that 256 MB of RAM is too low for a server with Plesk. Plesk consumes more RAM than any other control panels such as HELM.
RAM is very critical for the functioning of a VPS. Windows VPS RAM are not burstable like Linux.
I'm now beta testing PowerVPS and they have provided around 400 MB of RAM and around 272 MB of RAM has been utilized by the system.
Anyway, you can go ahead and test 256 MB VPS if required but you cannot install other applications with this amount of RAM.
Ask them about the possibility of upgradation.
From my point of view, a minimum of 512 MB RAM is required for a Windows VPS with Plesk.

Its unmanaged. you have to do the management. Any technical support ticket you raise, which eventually turnedout to be hardware or network fault you wont be charged. if it is due to your configuration or software install you will be charged at USD 75/hr

what i findout with my personal experience with them. its not trap, its a trick to avoid unwanted newbie questions and save their time efforts for the major technical problem solving. If you dont know and want to learn or help you have to pay USD 75/hr
Anyway 24/7 live technical support is there from where you can ask and solve your technical queries. offcourse its free. i have used 3 times till now.

web_host_guy_007, yes you did good research. i do also agree that for 256 MB ram in windows vps with plesk, you can not add more application or application savvy websites.
kartiksh 08-29-2005, 03:10 AM Since i am reselling this, and i have few knowhow of windows, i can offer free support in that but you should not count that as free support with package.
can I ask to upgrade the plesk version and the RAM to 512mb, I also think that 256 is not enough to run at windows os
if so, how much I should add on?
kartiksh 08-29-2005, 10:36 AM then you should go for WIN-VPS-300!
40GB Disk Space!
300GB Transfer!
512MB Min RAM!
Plesk Unlimited Domains!
$42/month
It is not correct that 256 is not enough. it depands on what is your requirements.
web_host_guy_007 08-29-2005, 10:46 AM Is there any option to add Plesk Power Pack? If so what are its contents and how much it will cost additional.
I had a website but now it was suspended by the hosting provider, I will try WIN-VPS-200, and need asp and mysql support, do you know i can install any windows component? eg, ASPEmail, aspupload,
I will have many question to ask, never use VPS before, just know how to use sharing hosting cp
kartiksh 08-29-2005, 11:10 AM no problem hoyo, i can help you out in whatever i know. you can use and install as many custom application or program you wish as long as you have valid licence for that. Also if your vps crashes due to any of your application or program ezzi.net may charge you to restore it.
kartiksh 08-31-2005, 12:59 AM Originally posted by web_host_guy_007

Plesk power pack includes http://www.sw-soft.com/en/products/plesk75win/addons/
The additional cost is $15/mo. Also note it supports and offers enables users to deploy and manage MS SQL Server databases right from the user interface with a few clicks. Plesk 7.5 for Windows can use and manage both local and remote instances of MS SQL Server Standard or Enterprise edition. Purchase MS SQL Server support to manage your local and remote database installations.
So it provides facility not MS SQL.
kartiksh 08-31-2005, 01:01 AM Also as per SW-Soft buynow page plesk power pack inludes
Plesk 7.5 for Windows Power Pack
A bundle of the SpamAssassin, Application Pack, Helpdesk, Tomcat, ColdFusion, and MSSQL Add-Ons.
kartiksh 09-07-2005, 06:28 AM this offer is still on. I will hike prices by $3 on each of above package soon.
