View Full Version : Instabill and foreign orders
All my instabill orders from European countries, Japan, LatinAmerica... rejected with a very annoying email sent to the customer with CC: to me (AVS failed: order rejected)
Any suggestions?
I don't want to sign-up with revecom ibill charge, etc.
because I don't have a business bank account right now.
sebados 01-03-2001, 10:09 AM You donīt need a bank account to sign up with revecom
http://revecom.com/faq/index.htm#140
sebados 01-03-2001, 10:33 AM Send an email to them with your question (sales@revecom.com).
I am sure you donīt need a bank account.
OK, I'll try.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Chicken 01-03-2001, 12:34 PM Are you *sure* you don't need a bank account with revecom? (That's question #1, I always had it in my head that you did). Also revecom and instabill are related (or used to be, or still are, or will be be, but they're related.
I'd contact instabill and see what can be done.
akashik 01-03-2001, 01:14 PM Chicken,
I can say without doubt you don't need a bank account for Revecom. I'm using them and getting payment sent by check. So far I have no complaints about either the payments, their charges or the system.
You only need a bank account if you wish your funds to be wired straight to your account. There's a fee for it ($25 I *think*) so I just went for check payment as I save money that way. I also get a statement with the check which is good for the records. :)
Cheaper than a merchant account too (for a long time ahead anyway)
FYI (everyone else)... Support is good too. Any questions I've had (and there's been thankfully few) have been answered quickly. They even altered my payment form for me when I requested something be altered.
Jan 5th (according to the control panel) they are doing a bit of upgrading and feature adding to streamline payments and alter the reoccuring billing area so that should be interesting. :)

akashik 01-03-2001, 01:19 PM Oh yeah, Revecom uses Paysystems.com 'TotalCart' system. Instabill was either bought out by Revecom or Paysystems (I forget which), so yeah they are related. Instabill is essentially run by someone else (one of the above) but retains it's name and features (cheaper, less impressive version). I think their tranaction fees are higher than Revecom, you just don't pay the $50 signup fee. - correct me if I'm wrong on that one. :)

sebados 01-03-2001, 01:30 PM I use revecom and in the merchant control panel I have these payment options:
US Mail
Airborne (US Clients only)
Federal Express
Wire Transfer
I actually use wire transfer because is safer but they are charging me $35 per transfer
astralexis 01-03-2001, 05:59 PM hmmm, would be interesting to hear if others using instabill experience the same.
I'm preparing a small biz (not hosting) and consider using instabill, but my clients are in europe and that would be a major problem.
kunal 01-04-2001, 07:23 AM Hmm.. Revecom support really sucks or is it just me? I left a message on there machine a couple of times, but they never called back. I emailed them a couple of times, but no response to that either. Is it just my luck or what?
astralexis 01-04-2001, 08:27 AM I'm not a revecom customer but had the same experience when I sent them an email with a couple of questions, never got a reply. Maybe because I didn't indicate my site address, so they thought it would be a waste of time to answer. I'll try to contact them again when I'm ready with all the rest...
The following is maybe a bit off topic:
The most amazing thing for european people like me are these high fees american banks seem to charge for wire transfers. Same thing for Instabill, Revecom and all the others: 35 - 45$.
Shall I tell you how much I have to pay my local (european) bank to wire funds to an american bank account? 4$.

Never had a problem myself. Of course I always quote my customer number to them when I email.. Though I have to say I got a fast response when I was shopping around too. Maybe you just caught them at a bad time. :)

kunal 01-04-2001, 09:35 AM Im sorry, if I sounded a little harsh. Its just that, when some one needs something done really bad, and it doesnt work, it can be frustrating.
akashik 01-04-2001, 09:39 AM No problem Kunal :)
I understand what you mean. Sometimes things need to be done and people just aren't playing the game at the speed you need them to.

RotoHost 01-04-2001, 11:14 AM Hi,
Sorry if this is bringing us off topic..
Right now I'm using Instabill. I'd like to know everyone's opinion on Revecom and how they compare to Instabill. The payout structure is a bit different with Instabill. The $1.00 auth. fee from Revecom scares me though :)
Happy New Year!
