What is a push and how do you do this? Also, can someone explain the process of selling a domain. I have some that I want to sell, but I tried before and all I got was bad feedback. thanks to all who help

Push is internal transfer of the domain name within the Same Registrar. Some Registrars allow that, others don't. If we take eNom for example, you can easily transfer the domain name to another account at eNom in just 5 minutes. As far as you may know, normal domain name transfers (From one Registrar to the Other) may take 6-7 days. So push is easy way to transfer domain to another person giving him full control over the domain name.

As for selling the domain name, there are many providers out there who will add the domain name to their database and if there is someone interested, he/she will be able to bid on your domain name.

I would recommend having look at:

GreatDomains - www.greatdomains.com (They only accept premium domains)
Afternic - www.afternic.com
Sedo - www.sedo.com

If you have any questions, feel free to ask

A few domain forums you may want to spend some time at are:
DNforum (http://dnforum.com)
DomainState (http://domainstate.com)
NamePros (http://namepros.com)
DomainPost (http://domainpost.com)
DNcollective (http://dncollective.com)

Also take a look at escrow.com (http://escrow.com) for secure transactions.

Welcome to the forum, Brian ;)

Both posts above by maxo and Scott are right on the money.

If you need cash and want to sell quickly, some people put the domain name up for auction at eBay and then go around to the various forums announcing that it is up for auction at eBay. BE sure to read the rules at each forum and make sure that you post the sale information in the appropriate section of the forum. For example, here on WHT it would be here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=55

Personally, I like to take the "gee, it's a good name and if I price it fairly, someone will come along eventually and buy it at a profit" approach. Sometimes it takes forever, sometimes just a few days. Overall, Sedo has been pretty good to me. They can really simplify the process and they are very professional. And if you have a lot of domains, you can make a few dollars parking your domains there, too.

Good Luck! ;)
