Well... I was goofing around in notepad writing out some equations and some if/then statements relating to my RPG... I decided to take a quick crash course in php programming. Here is the result of my boredom and 2 hrs of reading the php docs.

It prolly has no value to this forum, but since its my first program ever, I'm posting it anyway :stickout

I plan on adding the ability to pull some female and male names from a database and offer suggestions to the player. This is gonig to be my learning script to figure stuff out...

Tip: If you dont like what it gave you, refresh and hope it gives you something better...

So what do you think so far?... Remember its my first ever "start from scratch" not a "cut 'n paste" script ;)

Thanks msn, and queensoul... It was originally just a plain text if/else deal... then I added more... then some more :) then made it write the text in html

Good thing I got Apache and php running locally ;) php is neat... I definately like it better than javascript of python. Now its time for me to make a database, and fill it with some male and female names and suggest some names based on the kids you had... Gotta figure it out first... :)

hehe, true it was your first php script ill give ya that, we cant all make a 3d-engine in php before we know the language

Ive been aching for a slap all day to keep me awake... Can I have the souce for php3dengine? :D Not like I'll understand it or anything.

Me being a 3d arist, modeller, and a RPG'er give me time and I'll make my own version too :stickout. and maybe a standalone php RPG game :) ........ Hey, I can dream cant I? :D

Yup, old thread, but a new update :)

After some dorking around with php, I figured a couple things out... Now, I got all of my game's civilizations in the script and I just saved myself from making 10 more scripts...

Soon, I'm going to look up the infant mortality rate for major countries, and average it and at least make the script where it has a more forgiving mortality rate for humans... Plus other stuff like, unusual amount of kids (5,6,7,8 or even 9). This script is still far from done... Anything that could help me as a GM, I'm going to add it into the script.
