The only one I know for sure that works on 2000 Server is McAfee's NetShield.

Sorry if this is ignorant, but is it necessary to run AV on a web server if you keep the security patches current? I have been diligent about that, but don't have an AV product installed on my Win2K server.

Security patches and virus' have nothing to do with each other ;)
People can still upload virus', have their web pages infected by virus' etc.....
Having things like aspupload on your server(s) also needs to be watched....
Anyway...a good *free* package is AVG anti-virus, excellent package, as regularily updated as Norton et al. and best of all *free*.......yes thats right.....something for windows thats free! :stickout

I found that product here: http://esd.element5.com/product.html?productid=502847&language=English&stylefrom=502792 and as you can see its not *free*. Its only $38 though, which is pretty good. The free version that they offer is not made for 2000 Server.

The free version works fine with server....the fact that its a win2k server instead of a desktop is irrelevant....
Obviously if you want to scan all incoming eMail you'll need a different solution....iMail AV is pretty dear but probably worth it in the long run!

We sometimes use F-Prot which works really well, it's command like DOS which allows the intergration into other programs (Mail Servers, etc) a pretty easy task.
