What's with the "you need to sign up as a premium member" when clicking the google news item on the right hand side?

Do you mean the "WebHostingTalk News: News by HostingTech.com" section on the home page of WHT?

Er, what's pointless about offering a premium membership (http://www.hostingtech.com/?m=show&id=470)? Access to premium access articles is just one of the benefits. A lot of people have signed up for a premium membership, so there must be some point to it. :)

I heard that the premium mousepads are coveted items. ;)

Aye, when I got the mousepad I struggled with deciding whether to frame it or use it.

For advertising, the premium member subscription is well worth it and pays for itself pretty much on your first campaign with iNet. ;)
