Greetings,
I'm in dire need of a one or two experienced PHP programmers.
What is it all about?
This project is in in development for several months and currently running live for beta testing at http://www.blazeboard.com. It started out running http://www.mycool.com branded communities, however I decided to turn towards a bigger goal, a branded portal community. Several modules are in the 80-90% completion, but there are quite more modules that are 0% in development along with documentation, user tips, graphics, etc.
The reason is that due to a full time job, I have very little time to code. I also get very little input from the community who have signed up since the audience isn't really savvy when it comes to building successfull communities. So some fresh enthusiastic minds are good.
Who is involved?
At the moment, I am the sole programmer along with another dude who handles hosting for me and guides me in the direction to take the project.
I've been working with PHP for about 3 years and currently employed full time programming PHP and doing some system administration work on FreeBSD machines.
Who am I looking for?
Individuals with good self-esteem, can work together as a team, and experienced with PHP/MySQL and some JavaScript that anything that is doable can be coded out. Enthuastic and commited individuals are what I'm looking for.
You also got to have some sort of clue of good clean HTML layout.
What do you get in return?
First there is the "cool" factor. You'll be part of something that no one really has done and taken it to the level of branded communities. You'll become famous in a sense that most members will praise us for our quality work. This will diminish most other prominent message only boards that exists out there and convert users from major players to our system.
You'll also get the experience. This project is quite a large with several major peices to it. You can show it off in a resume and be proud of it.
Money? Uh, well no. At the moment, there is no business model or revenue model. All I really care is that we can pay for a higher end server and keep this project running. There's no banners due to several other sites that generates enough revenue for the server already and until this application is working in decent shape that it'll can be used to generate revenue to get more hardware. Sorry, but this a non paying job.
The goal:
I'd like to see this one day be as powerful as PHPNuke and the addons, yet so easy to use. The foundation is layed out, just need build more modules and refine current modules ie, adding moderation and group support into board/news modules.
If you think you are that individual fit for this, PM with contact info, your experience, what you can bring to the project, and anything else that is revelant.
Cheers.
