How much would it cost to make a site to look something like splashhost.com?

I really mean similar but not the same! I mean to make your own ideas but that would look cool as these sites. Thanks

If you mean just a layout it would cost about $100 (for either of them) or if you mean layout and content that would probably about $200 or so.

Anywhere from $150 to $200, depending upon your exact specification (flash, # of images you wanted, etc).

That should be something around $100. More graphics more the charge!

Are you wanting a very basic front page, with lots of white space, with simple body pages?

What is the purpose of the design?

One can't quote a price just based on what two other sites look like, but someone can, with information from the person wanting the sites!

If you are looking for a complete website, not only a layout, Artmotion can help you out..
I really like mchost.com`s design, but I would not just make a copy of it ;)

There are million`s of other possibilities to make a nice website.
We have just designed www.primenet.cc (http://www.primenet.cc) (as an example of what we are doing )

For good quality, you want to spend around 300-400 like Brian said already. I understand that that may seem high, but it really isn't. Yea, people look at low prices and they say oh great, then they get a mediocre design and horrible service (most of the time). 300-400 will get you an undoubtedly good design, and good support with puting in content...

150-450 is my range, i've been a designer for 6 years. I do not have a portfolio because I work under contracts and am not allowed to show work from other companies. I do have a resume with some corporations I have worked for. If you are interested please e-mail me at bizee@vertical-latitude.net

A portfolio is the basis in which a designer has ANY way of providing a sample of their work. I find it hard to believe that as a designer you cant show what you have done for clients. I have been in this business for 15 years and have only ran across that a few times..

I have seen this occur many times. If you work under a contract that states that all work you perform, any design, style, etc. becomes the property of the company that you work for.

This applies to all area's of business. My friend is a designer/engineer for Fords. Any work he designs, is Ford's. He can't just take it and show it as his. It would be a violation of his employment contract.

So lets not judge others, please. Unless, you know the person and are trying to discredit them based on some petty difference of opinion you have had! But, if that is not the case, then back off.

Well sir, I guess you haven't done much in your 15 years. I worked for very big cororations, and if I even show one piece of work to them I will be sued for exposing copyrighted material.

Please can everyone grow up. This is what every thread here turns into. People being immature and getting off topic, then the thread is closed and no work is done. It's very unproductive and unprofessional. If someone doesn't agree that a portfolio is necessary, or visa versa for that matter, it's their parogative. Everyone relax. Be worried about your own career and successes, let everyone else worry about their own...

Don't mean to hurt feelings or direct this toward anyone in particular. This is as general as things come...

I'm more of a simplistic designer but something like that, but nicer, could be done for $100, for the design. I think adding flash would make it much nicer, though.

Adding content would be higher, about $5 per page.
