When I was looking for a good domain name to register for my company the other day, I accidentally just typed "host" and host.name showed up as available! So I got two domains that day, my new domain name and host.name, but host.name was not showing up under my account.

I knew it was too good to be true. GoDaddy deserves to go to the special Hell.

Not really a mad rant, I'm just curious if this has happened to any of you? I'm wondering what kind of traffic that name would have gotten.

Yeah, true. but host.name would probably be slashdot geeks dream. :)

And I still haven't been credited.

This problem is an error between the registrar and registry. It is not all that common, but does happen on occasion, usually when the have 'maintenance' periods posted on the registrars site.
