Just wondering, has anyone found "new subscribers" slightly slower during this summer period than lets say at Christmas?

Yes it's always like that. Most kids are outside all summer and don't have time for games which ironically enough is also the same time of year most GSP's fail.. Coincidence? ;)

Heh.. little kiddys trying to make easy money :-/

We where speaking a host who is in the rack next our servers and they pretty much said the same thing. Spose if most companies (like we did) put money aside for a rainy day you cant go wrong :)

This year has been pretty busy through the summer months compared to years past but I think that has more to do with a few of the bigger companies going out of business lately.

We found last year around this period quite alot busier but to be honest we did have lower prices as a "new company" incentive for the whole year. Weve been through the "our whole customer base average age is 13 :("

This year its been quiter and we found it starts to picks up basically as soon as kids go back to school again.

The younger gamers tend to choose a game server company based solely on price.. Thats why I try not to lower our prices too much.. I'd rather have fewer signups and keep an older crowd then the other way around. ;)

We've started a GSP recently only offer chicago and NYC and as expected it's been slow. Not many orders and losing money on it but it's more of something fun to run because personally I'm a gamer and play most of the games we offer. Also the fact I'm trying to keep my prices reasonable but still offer high quality and high fps servers. So most want a server for $20/month or something dumb like that or they want sponsored.

I guess it's been pretty slow summer but that's anticipated like X-Gaming has said. It's probably also the fact that more and more teams or clans whichever they want to call it beleive they can get sponsored. It's basically become more widely spread since all these startup companies with low end machines sponsor a bunch of teams then die a month or two later and now the team thinks they are good they can get sponsored by anyone.

I remember when I played in some leagues with some friends for various games a couple years ago we never expected to be sponsored we paid for everything and it wasn't very cheap. Now if we were still around we could probably just jump sponsor to sponsor as well and never have to pay.

Anyways just a little rant
