After a lot of work we decided to go ahead and make some improvements to the communication between hosts and clients -on http://www.FindSP.com

I mean that's what count at the end of the day - if we were able to provide clients good hosting companies, and the other way around.

So we made a features which is actually private messaging between hosting companies and the clients.

On the company profile page you have a button where you can send a company a private message - the company owner receives an email that he has a private message waiting for him in the control center. In the control center you have a small emailing system that from there you can send the message to your client.

I think that the system would work much better if it e-mailed the host directly instead of adding 2 steps in-between, notifying them that they have a message, then logging into your website to view it. Why not cut out those two steps? You may try to be generating more traffic to your website, but you don't want that traffic coming from web hosts going to check their pm's.

Your are right, but there are 2 things I haven't mentioned - in the future it will become a part of a larger messaging system so we just want the hosts to get used to the current one which will be getting better and better by the day.

The second reason is this:

Since we want to keep our Directory as up to date as possible, instead of emailing hosts asking them to update their plans and add them for those who haven't it will keep them motivated when they'll see that customers are coming from our site, see what I mean? this way on the user end we'll have a constantly updated directory, which will provide the most up to date information :)
