You mean you want a host that has poor support, 50% down time, and still keeps charging you when you cancel your account?

That was only for a brief period of time during support system failure and replacement. Now, things are on the upside and many customers are reporting less than 24 hours ticket responses. Aletia has also gone out and purchased a new server. The machine I was on died too often so all the accounts on that server including mine are getting moved to the new server. :)

If you're looking for a similar price host, I'd try

I have had luck with the two of them on more then one occasion, and their pricing is decent, impulse used to be something else, I cant remember.

KEEP AWAY From aletia ....
Bad experience just moved from Aletia,
NO support,
Site down then dont bother !
Crappy place !

Then FOR CLIO !!!!
Lick the but to Aletia .... Go GO !!!
i think you work for aletia .....

Nice post in Aletia you have done... :
You have to be english to get support :-)

From clio :_________________________________________
Excuse me, but I only respond to sensible customers who have the decency to speak proper english. There's nothing wrong with elevating his ticket status in his situation.

In terms of my replies, I reply when I feel a need too. Hearing (well figuratively) a human response is better than no response at all. Many customers get good support turn around time.

Perhaps if you grew up, stopped pouting, and spoke better English, people would serve you better. I'm not saying that people (i.e. Aletia) ignore you, but your horrible English is just irritating and an impediment to the process of support.

If you don't speak English well, don't even consider joining Aletia.
Because if you have any support problems, they will not answer your support requests, and they will try to embarrass you in their forums. Read what they did to tech, who was trying so hard with his english.

http://aletiaforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4047

Also read their forums for a couple of days to see what's in store for you before you sign up.

In my opinion, it's clear that clio (julie) does not work for aletia, but she is on their side. Or maybe she is just able to see both sides.

Tech should expect a poor response when bashing and using the term "lick the but". However, tech should have been censored for bashing instead of for communicating poorly in written english.

If someone was unable to communicate clearly in english, I would never assume that they were capable of communicating in a different language. But if they could, I would prefer that they communicate to me in that language. I can always get a good translation, and would prefer that over relying on their own poor translation skills.

I just remember it being easier to provide tech support in another language than in broken english.

Of course, I digress. This thread is about aletia, as a lot of them have been, lately.

There is no doubt that Aletia is giving away a great deal on bandwidth (we couldn't hope to match it, for example). Unfortunately when looking for a host some people only look for disk space and bandwith, and not for other things such as good support.

To demonstrate this, look at all the people who signed up with HostOnce, or who ask about HostOnce here.

Since I left this awful host, my sales are up 50%.
Might be because my site is up and not down all the time?
My English is good, but still no support!

Seems that many hosts are overselling their bandwidth to get customers, and then when they are successful in this, they fall apart because it catches up with them.

I cannot see how they could make a profit off the plans they offer. BW is too expensive to sell the plans they are.

Whatever, you guys can say about me what you wish. Snakebite, you're incompetent. Yes, Aletia is having problems. My site has been down all day. *shocK* to you, isn't it, one who accuses me of being on my own special server. Anyway, if suddenly 2 years from now, Aletia became a great host, you'd be the liar, just as now aletia's having problems again.

Yes, I am on their side. I think they're a good company, not great, but good.

You guys can post that post of mine all you want. I don't care. Decent people would hop on over to the forums see that I apologized like THREE times. Jeesh. You know, many people would just edit the post, I'm letting it stand. People make mistakes, get over it.

I can't possibly be working for ALetia. I'm 17. Get over it.

Clio, since you appear to be on Aletia's side, I'm directing this question primarily to you.

I was very interested in Aletia's services when I first started looking for a host. I noticed that their physical address as listed on their website was approximately 25 miles from my home. I thought that would be really cool. Having previously worked in that town for over 2 years, I became really curious as to where the street was as I'd never seen it while driving around the town. I started checking local maps and online maps, the local phone books (which cover that town) and came up empty-handed. The address simply does not exist. I completely lost interest in using their service. If they will lie about something so simple as their street address, what else are they lying about? Or will they lie about?

So, now I ask you, Clio, how can you be so pro-Aletia? Honestly?

The server that my site is hosted on at Aletia has been down for 20 hours straight today. Aletia's response was that it has been acting naughty. Needless to say I signed up with a new host today. But the real funny part is I can't even change the DNS with Netsol because my email address is hosted on the naughty server. Since hosting with Aletia, it has been one horror story after another.

LIAR!! i NEVER said you were on a special server. i merely asked which one you were on.

Anyway, if suddenly 2 years from now, Aletia became a great host, you'd be the liar, just as now aletia's having problems again.

wrong. i have stated my opinion based on what i experienced and what i've seen. 2 years from now my opinions will still be valid.

That's interesting. I checked with the USPS, and like you said, there is no tramway drive in lake tahoe, nevada. That's pretty bad.

Snakebite, using your logic, chicken works for rackshack now, because he moderates their forum. You had better let him know.
