Hi

I know what you are thinking. NOTHING IN LIFE COMES FOR FREE. WELL SOMETHING THAT IS GOOD.

Here it goes.

Requirements:

I use a linux server

Must be free


I would like a helpdesk system that supports email piping. I would also like a live chat, that is not compulsory but it would be nice.

Any ideas.

Do a search, this has been covered quite a bit.

Osticket, PMOS, and Cerberus all come to mind (not all include live help, but you can get livehelp from another program if not included).

There are quite a few nice helpdesks out there that only cost a few bucks though.

I've just installed HelpCenterLive for my hosting company. It comes with Live Support, Trouble Tickets and FAQs. I also think it uses email piping. You can take a look.

I got mine straight from Fantastico, and contrary to popular belief, not all scripts on Fantastico suck.

There's also a site you can download it from, but I can't post links yet. :/ Just search google for helpcenterlive. :)

If I remember correctly, OSticket is quite good, and supports email piping. Might be worth giving it a try.

Cerberus is excellent ticket system and it has free version too with good support.

Yes I have tried Help Centre Live. I don't like it because u can't customize the layout easily. OSticket is now built into HCL.

PHPlive is $99 but I which I have bought. Excellent Product.

your best bet wil be alwasy tro try thme all :( and see if someone fit your needs.

Cerberus has free license version with the limitation to only one email account for support staff.

However, it is a great product and you can even remove copyright notices from the footer of template.

Plus, their support is really great!

I've used the ticketing feature in modernbill before but i prefer using Inverseflow helpdesk software now.

You can customize it nicely so it works well. I have it on my site where clients can submit tickets using it easily.

thanks for the link. When I got into the demo i realised that I had been on that site before and didn't look very appealing.

So still on the hunt for a Live Support and Ticket System

Crafty Syntax seems to be pretty good and is included in fantastico - De Luxe (i think)
