Hi,

Im looking to start reselling domains and im thinking about directi for a reselling company because its so much easier to get there cheap domains.

I see places like namecheap.com have there API i think it is coded into there site so customers never have to leave the actual url of namecheap, but with directi customers have to go to something like 2342.myorderbox.com. Is it possible to control the domains maintained on my site with a custom API without having to leave my URL?

I dont know if its the API or not that needs to be custom.

Any and all help is appreciated

Thanks

You would use API to program your own site to keep your customer on your site. With API your server will talk to registrar on the backend. But it will cost you something to buy a shopping cart that can talk with their API or you can program it yourself. With Control panel you can customize that it will be in a way <anything>.your-domain.com

Are there any API that can do all this and provide easy customiseable interface?

And will i need to get an SSL cert in order to run it on my own site?

API will let you only talk on a back end , "customizable interface" is a front end and shopping cart or control panel will let you do that.

Ok are there any front end control panels available that can manage domains/renewals and dns/mail forwarding/url forwarding?

Each one is different so it depends on a reason why you want to use API and not use customizable Control Panel.

I would like something thats is completely customiseable. A control panel would be fine as long as it can control everything i need it to.
