is this possible? we have a raq 2 that will not restore with the restore disks. Is it possible to install say redhat or freebsd on one of these. do we have to do something to the bios? has anyone attempted this before or know of any documentation on the subject? thanks in advance.

Well I'd say give it a shot. You can always go back to the original state by using the restore feature on the raq. As long as you do not modify the bios and the rom feature which boot the box from cd.

As long as you keep that in mind i'd say it is pretty safe to try, we did it once here.
