Hi
Wich kind of servers and configuration would you use with hsphere in order to have all the features (w2k, linux, mail, shopping cart) etc.
would you use? MySQL server or MS SQL server or both
i already have 4 dell 1650
PIII 1.26
3HD 36 G raid 5
and 2 dell 2550
2PIII 1.26
3HD 36 G raid 5
how would you distribute the features?
and would you change the hd for smallers or its ok?
i already have the dns servers 2 dell 350 PIII
are this ones ok for dns servers?
Sorry abouth my ignorance and thanks

You have some really nice hardware there.
Here is what I would recommend, anyone can chime in if they think I am crazy though.
CP: 2550, squeeze as much RAM in there as you can.
MySQL / PostgreSQL: 2550, again as much RAM as you can.
Mail: 1650, it'll last quite a while as a dedicated mail box.
Web1: 1650
Web2: 1650
Web3: 1650
NS1: 350 is MORE than enough!
NS2: 350
The CP is your most critical box because every one of your customers will be hitting it. The MySQL/PostgreSQL boxes are also as critical for the same reasons -- but you can add more of those later.
The Web boxes don't generally need a lot of power since they just run web apps and you can add as many as these as you like down the road.
Also, you may want to post this on the psoft forums as their moderators/admins are likely to more about this than I. :)
Edited to add one more comment: The 350's are actually really good machines for hosting web sites, you just have to be more careful about maintaining backups since you don't have the RAID 5 on them and you can put fewer sites on a 350 versus a 1650, for obvious reasons.

That is the most logical config, very nicely done ;)
just make sure you tell hsphere to place the CLIENT postgres on the mysql server while leavign the system postgres on the CP
as for those DNS servers, I have 2 Compaq Proliand 850R (Dual PPRo 200 512K) workign as DNS servers (here is one http://ns1.wizardsdns.com) , and they work like a charm .. your 350's will do just fine :)
