Plan for the future. What sort of package does your business plan say you will need in 12, 24, 36 months? 5 years?

At some point you will have to upgrade, and data does not just port over from ClientExec to Modernbill. If you will end up with Modernbill eventually, why screw around with ClientExec? When it will just cause you more work over the long haul?

Next question... do you plan to offer coupons or discounts (coupons as sign-up bonuses maybe... discounts for when there is a failure and a customer wants a credit)? Bill for bandwidth overages? How do you plan to handle the accounting when clients send you a partial payment or an overpayment? Because ClientExec can't do any of these, you'll need Modernbill to manage them within your billing system. In the case of over/under payments, you'll actually need to keep written records of accounting, as ClientExec has absolutely no facility to even work around that sort of issue.

If you're serious about the business, get the serious software and do it right, the first time.
