Does anyone know of an online script that I can install server-side or for each directory that would allow users to edit the pages only in a certain directory.

For example, I want John to be able to use an online editor to edit the files in directory X but I dont want to give me access to edit all the other site files in directories A, B, and C.

Any ideas?

Sure, you can do this with www.snippetmaster.com. However, with the current version you would need to install the software into each directory since it only supports one user per installation.

But the user will not be able to navigate into a "higher" directory, and thus you can accomplish your goal.

The new version of snippetmater (due out on Sept 18th) will support unlimited users and give you the ability to specify a "starting directory" for each user.. so that the user can't go higher then his starting directory.
