A lot of people may have noticed that NFSCars has had downtime regularly lately. This is because the server it resides on is having trouble handling the load, especially on peak times.

To solve this problem, my host has decided to upgrade the server to a dual CPU system, but as this is quite expensive and the ads are not paying enough to finance it, my host decided to open up a donation system.

So is anyone willing to help out? Its kinda hard to come up with the money since the sites are hosted for free.

Make it subscription-based then. Offer a small part for free and the rest for subscribers.

That wouldn't work on NFSCars. Most of the visitors are young people (like 13 or 14 years old), without money and the parents are usually not positive towards paying for a website.

With this donation system, people who can afford it (the older people, or the few parents that are persuaded by their children to donate), are asked to do so. This way we hope to get enough people to donate to finance the upgrade and once that is done, the sites on the server should be ok again.

btw, I am the webmaster of NFSCars, in case you hadn't noticed yet.

Please dont tell me you are going to random forums asking for money and expecting people to donate to help your site.... if that's your goal id suggest you find a better cause, people rarely giv emoney to companies they dont use for sites they dont visit when there are so many other places to donate.

You cannot survive on donations. If you get more than $10 and it's not from a relative, let me know.
