I have a client who has a subdomain ex: subdomain.domain.com

They now want to have ns1.subdomain.domain.com pointed to an IP on their network how do I do this on the RAQ? I know the GUI doesn't support this. Any one who has DNS experience through command line that might be able to help would be greatly appriciated.

Thank You

Hmmm... maybe this is a start...

On my RaQ3, the /etc/named/pri.*.* files have headers that say:

;
; Do Not edit BIND db files directly.
; Use the administrative web user interface
; /admin/ -> Control Panel -> DNS Parameters
; Custom additions may be made by creating a file of the same name as this but
; with a; .include suffix. Click Save Changes in the DNS web interface and
;the inclusion will be made.

You may edit the zone files manually when you save the changes in an other document which is included in the original file.

Then you can jsut add a a record.
Of course you could just add a new domain to the server (in the DNS menu) by adding:

subdomain.domain.com

Then you cna add just all the a records you want, just as ns1.
