Late our server load has been averaging 3-4 with spikes as high as 10. I really need some suggestions. Would you by more RAM and add another CPU? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My server specs is:

Well... Maybe tell us whats running on the box.... Or post us the output from 'ps -faux' and we could maybe see why its spiking..... Do you have 1000 people hitting it each second, we need to know the specifics :)

Do a "top" and check out what might had eat up your server resource. And you might want to kill any idling processes, probably httpd.
