View Full Version : need help thinking of a "motto"...

Well, I am finally getting around to my most important and most exciting project yet...its going to be a local "school community site" for my college of approx 20,000.

What i need...

A catchy, appealing motto(a little minor profanity is ok...like "ass" or "suck" etc) :)

Background Info...

This site is going to be tailored for the STUDENT, and the student only...in other words anything goes (within reason). We will have all sorts of cool resources for the students, awesome forums, and farrr more.

The site will be called...

"Jackit.net"

why, you ask?

1. because it sounds cool and 2. because our mascott is a lumberjack!

This motto will be printed on the back of our T-shirts wich we are currently in the process of designing...this is of course why we are in need of a motto at this time.

The site has not been launched yet and is projected to be released by fall 2002.

Please if you have any ideas regarding some kind of motto relating to college, lumberjacks, the internet etc. help us out!

We are looking for something funny if possible...our current "motto" is..."The NAU student's ULTIMATE online resource!"

this is far too boring and un-origional, so we are looking for your help!

Well...

technically, none of the URLs in the signature are hyperlinks....
they are just URLs...

"I said JackIT"

I like it....

When they say hyperlinks I think they mean url's seeing you can't put a link in your signature.

exactly, i have 0 hyperlinks in my signature...in case you didnt know this...

hyperlink

<hypertext> A reference (link) from some point in one hypertext document to (some point in) another document or another place in the same document. A browser usually displays a hyperlink in some distinguishing way, e.g. in a different colour, font or style. When the user activates the link (e.g. by clicking on it with the mouse) the browser will display the target of the link.

In otherwords...my signature consists of URLs or "uniform resource locators"...wich are in fact different from hyperlinks.

sorry, if theres one thing that bothers me, its NON-moderators who whine about sigs...anyways, can we please drop this...id wrather not have my thread hijacked(that was one of my ideas for the sitename...too bad i couldnt get that one! damn!)

manmythlgnd- not bad, only thing is i dont want to confuse the visitors that the site may be a pay site wich it wont be. But we're on the right track!

have fun with this guys...get creative! great job so far, i knew i could count on you guys...keep up the good work!

yah, I was actually thinking about something like "because our competitors suck ass!"

heres the closest thing to "competition" I have at this time...

http://www.flagstaffskinny.com
http://www.flagstaffinternet.com

pretty lame...but I still consider them competition, wich means I need to blow them to kingdom come when I release my site.

Or where could I have somone design one for me? Cuz if im gonna talk about lumberjacks in the motto i cant have the logo without a lumberjack in it! If anyone knows somone who can do killer vector drawings or something hook me up.

thanks i checked it out...

not bad, but from what I saw in his portfolio the images looked to...authentic; like they had been drawn by hand and scanned in without any adjustments. Im looking for more of a solid vector illustration. Something with solid colors, Thankyou though for this source I still may consider it...the drawings arent bad.

Anyone else know of any sources? Any other motto's or are you guys out of ideas?

Maybe you could change your mascot to a JackITlope :D
Here's a pick of a jackalope if you dont know what it is
http://www.jackalopejunction.com/Jackalope/IMAG0001.JPG

I tried to find a good pic of a limberjack, no luck. I'm sure there are some. You'll just have to keep looking, and JackIT when you find one ;)

I think it would help if we could actually see the mascot. But you say that the logo hasn't even been designed yet?

Hmmmm.........

How about "Get a grip on-line.....Jackit.net"

or

something Monty Python-ish "I'm a lumberjack and and I'm okay!"

(Okay....Most won't get it so j/k about the last one ;) )
