NT was made pretty much redundant by the release of Win2k, as for the other 2, it depends on what you are wanting to do - each has it's advantages and disadvantages. I don't think I would ever settle for a windows host. Windows is more expensive, it is less stable, and it has more security holes. Even Red Hat Linux (notorious for high security risks without the proper setup) is more secure 'right out of the box' in my opinion... I would have to agree with everyone on FreeBSD, I think its the best *nix choice. It is very stable and secure, and who can beat free? I don't think anyone is going to pay me to use their operating system...hmm.. that would be nice...lol |
