If i started a new forum that deals with technical issues like techiestalk.com and have it also be about web design and programming, would you join?

I probably would :)

im thinking phpbb2 (the final is coming out soon) wbb, wbb2 (80$ for unlim everything) or vb 180$ kinda pricy

if theforum gets a good ammount of visiters and people donate, or i put up ads for a little bit i could start out with phpbb2 or wbb, and then upgrade to a paid board

Is0lized, if you have to ask people to join, then most likely the end result would be far from what you want. If techiestalk is already established, maybe a new angle or a specialized forum would be better.

im asking if people would be intrested in going to a forum like this, reason why i ask is because i might spend some money in it and i dont want to waste money if it turns into nothing

To build on Chickens recommendation of a new angle or specialized forum, you might want to approach the owners or moderators of a similar or existing forum and volunteer to moderate / evangelize your specialty in their forums and help build on an existing community.

The techie forum is not a bad idea. I don't see many of those around yet..

IMHO you've got way too many forums, about way too varied topics. My suggestion is to focus in on one specific area that isn't well covered by the other one you mentioned. It is only my opinion however.

Chicken, i took off 3 forums, ill add them if needed :D

Well now that we own Techiestalk.com we plan to add some new things.. :) As the site has grown like weeds... hehe

We plan to add things like web design, programming, and more stuff to do with web hosting as thats what we do any way.. LOL


Also any really goo vBulletin Designer here.. If so let me know we may be looking for some new designs for the site.. :) But every thing on the site would need to work as it does in the 3 designs we have now.. :)
