I've got the domain FAST-PORTAL.NET, and I did a *free* appraisal today on it. Now sit down, 'cause you'll be stunned.
Do you know how much they think it's worth? Huh?

Listen, I'd really love this to be true, but I'm having doubts here. :rolleyes:

Could this be true? If not, or if yes, in both cases actually :D, could you give me some more urls of companies that do free domain appraisals, or places where I might be able to sell this domain?

You could try putting it on eBay -- but a .net with a dash in it isn't going to be worth that much unless someone has a real use for it.

No. I would not have a domain name appraised in there.

You fill-in their form and put your email address. For all you
know they may be a source of spam emails later (just my opinion). They don't have a solid privacy policy in the first place.

Besides, the appraisal is nonsense as you have reported it to be.

I don't think domain appraisal can appraise the value of any domain names. The value of a domain name depends on those who want it and what they are willing to pay for it. The more people want it the higher the price is.

Post your offer to sell at Related Offers and Requests forum. Who knows someone here in WHT will buy the domain from you. And make sure you can accept credit card payments.

So if you get a domain appraised for $12000, and end up selling it for $20, can you take a loss on your income taxes?

But if you'd like to be able to take such a loss....I have a $20 domain I will sell you for $12,000...then you can sell it for $20...and that way you will be able to take a lost of $11980.

Tell the company that appraised the domain that you'll sell it to them for half price. See if they still think it's worth $12,000 at that point.

That's actually a pretty nice little comment there. It would seem like they'd scoop it up, eh?
