hi there,

someone, as well as me (so far 2) are going to try to purchase vB in a volume license.

3-5 people, can get it for $120 for a full license. This is with the discount, plus 20% back from commission junction.

you get a full license, and a year of upgrades. You can use it on one web site, licensed.

If anyone is interested, post a reply, we are most likely going through with this tonight or tomorrow!

Hey I have a question,

will EVERY buyer get his/hers own ID for vbulletin.com support?

Is this because of the number of people now only doing it, or you just dont need one right now?

Im just curious......is this against jelsoft's licensing agreements??? would this be considered reselling since 1 person is buying and then giving a copy to everyone else?

We were looking into this before, several of us. It essentially isn't reselling, but I will verify once again to make sure it is legit in their terms. I planned to go through several months ago, but I did not hear back from a few people, and I was just too busy as well as everyone else.

I added the other two names. I emailed jelsoft 2 hours ago, should hear back soon.

We have never had a sale as far as I'm aware.

As Filburt mentioned you can get a nice discount by purchasing licenses in bulk, you could get together with a bunch of webmasters and purchase a few to save some money.

Also if you join the Affiliate Program and then use your link to buy it, you'll get a commission for doing so.

Looks like its perfectly alright!!

How do people want to pay. Money order/check/cheque, or credit card.

With credit cards, I would use paysytems, which i would charge about a $2.10 fee just so it works out perfectly for the cost.

Let me know.

edit: we are looking at about $109.00 USD for a full with 6 people. How is everyone with this?

Also, here is a suggestion I was given: Since CJ doesn't send payment right away, you would pay $136 via Credit Card/check, and then once the CJ check is recieved, I would send everyone a money order in USD for the amount of $29 USD.

Wait! I might be interested too! :)
So it's 120$ that I have to pay to get a licence? Or 120$ split up into all of them who are going with this deal?

diederik

Defcon,
$120/each for a full license :)

Then why were you whining about 29 bucks in your PayPal account?
What was that all about?

Because we pay $29 / license more and get it back after commission by cj.com has been paid :)

I would take one license too! (if it's not too late)

Oh, so in fact it's 91$/licence ? :)

Sean

6 - 10 licenses is $136/each

thats what we would require up front.

once CJ mails me the check, i would refund everyone $29/ bringing it down to 109.00 for a full license.

The reason I would send it out later is because I would not receive the 20% off until 30 days later when I receive the check.

I could do via Paypal, or pay you via money order/check.

from the vbulletin.com forums

Yes, that's how it works. Jelsoft assigns you a customer ID (username) and password for the member area, and each download of vBulletin has that information in it for verification and antipiracy reasons.

there we are :-)

LOL :D
I can see it before my eyes: lots of people were (read: seemed) "interested", but when they eventually got the payment link, 90% of'em starts doubting all of the sudden...

I think that's lame. :o
If you're not interested, do it my way: tell the man (Sean) (--> yep: you the man! :D ) that you're actually not interested at all, or that you changed your mind, or that it's too expensive. ;)

Thank you!! I do wish people would speak up, now I am afraid the price will go up (not go up, but you will get less back, etc)

Anyways, I have four people so far, if anymore wanna go through now is the time. I will give to 4 PM EST.

Im interested in knowing how many it would take to get the license fee down to $80 or $90 per copy. Anyone know?

alpha
06-05-2002, 08:19 PM
You can either get the leased license which is $85 per year.

If you would want a owned license, according to my calculations, if you got 11 people to buy in bulk - each person would get an owned license for approximately $99 after the 20% affiliate program payout.

Anyways, I already have TWO people who are interested in doing this kind of thing again - this is total of 3 people. We can either go along with the 3 people thing or we can get 6 more and get a bit more discount...

sabolchi

I already have a leased license for one board, but i would like to get a few owned licenses. If we could find enough people to pick up 25 or so licenses, i wonder if Jelsoft would be willing to drop the price to the $80 - $90 range.

I guess i should email them to find out. Anyway, at $80 - $90 for an owned license, I would probably take 4 or 5 myself.

Just a thought...

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note. Everyone that participated int he volume purchase for April with me, your $27 has been refunded!

Sorry it took so long. CJ sent me the check the end of May.. .They're slow.. Finally, after waiting 2 business weeks for the check to clear (I am in Canada, so they put a hold) I finally got things settled.

If you have not recieved your refund, either by PayPal or by Hosting Credit, please contact me.
