I just got an eNom Reseller subaccount and cannot find an answer to this issue.

If I create a new domain under my account and then if my client wants to use the full enom.com site for managing his domain, can I then just create a retail account for him and move his domain under this retail account?

And when it comes to renewal time, can I renew the domain for him or does he have to do it through the enom.com site?

I don't plan on selling many domains, so I don't want to setup PDQ and some clients will want more access than just the access.enom.com option.

First off, the PDQ is worth it.

Secondly, once you move the domain to a retail account, he can access his domain through enom.com. To renew his domain, a) he would renew it through enom or b) he pushes it to your account and your renew it then push it back.

No problem. The PDQ is really great and as time goes on enom introduces more services and more customization. I am just waiting for them to offer Club Drop as a service offering for PDQ.

I think if it was intergrated into a custom design its nice, but no reason to buy from reseller with same design as main and cheaper =\ , get it intergraed to your site, and get a much bigger response.

If retail is under your reseller account, you can renew it without push domain.

just use registryrocket it can do the job of renewal and managing the domain

Actually if you want to retain the billing side but let them "manage" the domain - all you need to do is allocate a password for that domain and they can mange it through the enom site

The reseller I go through creates a retail account for each customer. It makes it much easier to manage multiple domains, and feels basically like my own enom.com account except with the reseller's better pricing.

retail accounts doesn't make good money like reseller accounts thats why everyone is giving reseller accounts more secure/control for the customer and more profit for the ETP/higher reseller :)

Is it more profit simply because a reseller is expected to purchase more domains than an individual with a retail account? Or do reseller accounts actually generate more $$$ per domain registration?

When I was asking why not all resellers give retail accounts, I was mainly referring to those resellers who only seem to give their customers access to their domains through access.enom.com, rather than letting the customer access and manage all of their domains through the main eNom site. My understanding is that if a customer doesn't have his domains in his own eNom retail account, his domains are in risk if something goes wrong with the reseller.

Enom have been known to step in where problems have occurred.

Domains are "safe" where handled by responsible ETPs/resllers, or directly by the clients in a retail/reseller account.

As a regsitrant you should always insist that the domain is registered in your name and that your details are used for the registration, that way you can always gain control even if the agent vanishes.
