For my new website I am searching for a free hosting service supporting php and mysql. This is only for testing purpose. I only need this for testing and start-up purpose. I have tried spaceports.com and Tripod.
Spaceports uses annoying forcing (ad-)technology and Tripod is not reliable enough yet.

Any other idea?

Any other idea? Have you looked around FreeWebspace (http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/index.php?s=)?

there are many free php hosts will little or no ads. most of them do not provide any kind of SQL support. for SQL support you can use DBX (http://dbx.idya.net/) - a flatfile DBMS, storing data in XML format and allowing you to execute SQL queries. its hardly 20k in size and supports basic SQL queries.

from my experience:

PHP/MySQL+Free Host= a HUGE headache because they are never up and/or are extremely slow.

Also be careful of your database being deleted for no reason, and non replied emails, and to top it off, no access to make a DB backup
