Hi guys... well.. I been up all night, reading all this info here.. I have to say..This is the best site ever!

Anyways, I have a question. I currently have reseller account with LIquidWeb. I like their plans, but their support sucks. They advertise free ssl and then when I have everything up and running I discover that the ssl is expired, so I call them up and they tell me that they have no intensions in renewing it. Wouldn't this be false advertising? Anyways...

I had this account for about 5 months now, I never really did anything with it until now, I started to get this thing rolling. Now, I looked at RackSchack server option and it looks pretty interesting. My question is. Would it be worth it to spend that 149 bucks a month and just have my one server and work with this? Or should I stay with reselling LIquidWeb.

I probably won't stay with them forever and therefore I am kind of worrying that when I start to get clients and decide to change hosts, I will have bunch of switching around to do. Kind of looking ahead ya know?

What would be the adventages for me to go with my own server instead of reselling my current host?

Do I need to purchase anything additional in order to get that server? (like anonymous DNS, CPanel, SSL things like that)

My current budget would allowe about 150 bucks a month and thats with hopes that I will get enough clients in first 2 months to cover my costs.

So any advice would be helpfull... thanks.

Well, benefits of having a reseller account are that you don't have to worry about hosting costs since you only pay for clients that sign up, and you don't have to manage a server.

Rackshack offers *unmanaged* servers. That means that they set it up for you, then leave it alone. They don't officially offer any support except for restarting when you need it and managed DNS servers (although their DNS service leaves something to be desired, I'd suggest managing your own DNS servers).
You shouldn't have any other costs if you choose a plan that includes server management software, and their forums offer oodles of help for the newbie.
My suggestion would be that if you are a quick learner, and a bright guy, go with rackshack. If you're a little bit slow, stick with reselling or go with a managed host for dedicated servers.
