I don't think there is a cheaper company out there.... at least I do not know :) sorry Akash 04-03-2002, 05:10 PM Originally posted by Byron godaddy.com $8.95 stargateinc.com $8.85 directi.com $8.49 Any others? Registrars above $9 need not apply. Out of all the ones that are <$9, GoDaddy and Stargate would be the best ones to go with. I wouldn't trust any other company. Note: reg2c.com (i think) is reported to have registrations at $6.95 but I haven't met anyone successful in doing so and it seems tgtbt Ras 04-03-2002, 07:25 PM I'm quite pleased with Godaddy. Acroplex 04-03-2002, 09:32 PM Newsflash: Stargate upped their registrations to $13.95 Upped their transfers to $10 You can still register 2 or more domains at the same time for $8.85 but renewals will occur at the $13.95 rate. Looks like GoDaddy will be the choice for everyone then..... .....but if Domain Registration is like any other industry, if one company that holds a big percentage of the market raises their prices, so will their competitors... Abu Mami 04-04-2002, 01:25 AM Originally posted by akashd Looks like GoDaddy will be the choice for everyone then..... Why GoDaddy? How 'bout Namecheap? Akash 04-04-2002, 01:27 AM Originally posted by Abu Mami Why GoDaddy? How 'bout Namecheap? I've never even heard of NameCheap before...thanks for pointing it out to me... looks like namecheap can be added to the top 5 now.. ;) Dave114 04-04-2002, 01:31 AM Originally posted by akashd looks like namecheap can be added to the top 5 now.. ;) NameCheap is an Enom reseller. I think Byron was looking only for ICANN accredited corps. Akash 04-04-2002, 01:34 AM Originally posted by Dave114 NameCheap is an Enom reseller. I think Byron was looking only for ICANN accredited corps. Not sure if it matters much. Enom is an ICANN accredited registrar, and enom is very reliable. It's worthwhile using an enom reseller, and I'm very happy with namecheap. Byron 04-04-2002, 02:15 AM Thanks for replying, guys. Dave is right. Please limit this discussion thread to ICANN registrars below $9. Thanks. Maybe we can start another thread for OpenSRS or Enom. Seems like godaddy is the leading player in this range now. How about Directi, any experience with them or any other registrars? Cheers. Akash 04-04-2002, 02:18 AM Originally posted by Byron Thanks for replying, guys. Dave is right. What does it matter whether it's an ICANN registrar or an enom reseller. Enom is ICANN accredited so it all ends up the same in the end. Correct? Or am I missing something? Maybe he doesn't trust resellers or something? I've actually got a few domains with NameCheap and would reccomend them, but unless I'm reading things wrong he doesn't want to consider such an option. Byron 04-04-2002, 03:36 AM No special reasons. I have domains with resellers from opensrs and enom. Just shopping around for a ICANN accredited registrar. OK, fair enough. But it just seems to me that it all boils down to the same thing. |
