ok a few weeks ( or was it months?) ago i went to a local dealer and i bought a 256 mb sdram for 56$ canadian, and now i go back and he says that the price has increased, and now costs 59$ for a 128mb sdram!
can u believe it!

now i just want to know if someone out there can get me some cheap ram, i need 2 sticks of 128 mb ram and i am willing to pay shipping to canada if they are at a good rate, also the person has to accept money orders....

ya, a few of the ram makers decided to close their extra capacity. I expect that ram will remain at this price (perhaps higher) for a while now. It was being sold at a loss before...

I think CompUSA is still selling it cheap. Haven't checked in a few days though

I got 2 512 chips a few months ago for $60 each, now from the same place, the same chip is $150.
My advice would be to go search on ebay. A guy name Honest Abe Memory has some good stuff.

I'm glad the prices are finally going up again. You wouldn't believe how much money I lost when the prices started dropping.

I'm not a very good investor sometimes.

From what our account rep at Crucial is telling us, it is going up even higher.

Anyone got an eta of when it will drop?

When it first started rising after Christmas, I presumed it would have fallen again by Summer... maybe I'm wrong =/.

compusa prices are expected to nearly double over the next few weeks

in the general market, the prices had bottomed out back in november-december and beginning of jan..

then they started climbing during jan and are now sky rocketing upwards
