I just wanted to check in with other resellers and see how difficult it was to setup OpenSRS. I am getting ready to do so and am wondering what I am putting myself into. Thanks, Andrew

Very very easy:

0. Read the form
1. Fill the form
2. Fax the form
3. You will be ready in a few hours

The same if you want to add .info, .biz, etc.

I would recommend Opensrs highly. :)

I meant actually setting up the Perl scripts. THe part you mentioned was very easy.

I've read about OpenSRS, and a lot of people seem to be headed that way. Could someone explain a skeletal outline of the service, pricing structure, etc?

Once you're a reseller, you will be given an interface to register, transfer and to manage all your domain. And of course you can design your own perl/php template according to your need for direct registration. The control panel has everything you need.

For the pricing, you have to pay a minimum of $250. In return, you will get 25 credits that you can use for new registration or domain transfer.

Turn around time is fast. Normally it takes about 12-24 hours for a domain to resolve nationwide. The changes you make will be effective instantly/real time.

OpenSRS has phone and email support. So far, the support has been wonderful.

Well, I am trying to install it and will probably be ripping my hair out shortly. Wish me luck.

Good luck but as I posted on another forum (VO) if you are the same user than just make sure that all the modules that openSRS requires to be installed on the server are in fact installed. Also don't forget to edit the paths of all the cgi files to the openSRS.conf file.

$250 minimum if you install the API into your site.
$500 minimum if you are not install the API into your site

I got it installed and working. Now i need to customize it. That is a major undertaking in and of itsefl.

Where is that on the OpenSRS web site? So you pay less if you use it and pay more if you don't?....a little confused, sorry..

He is correct. You pay $500 if you want to use the Quickstart option and $250 for the Full Service.

I get it now...found it on the OpenSRS web site too ;) Isn't $10/domain a lot though? Enom gives you a few extra web site tools for around the same price.. Just wondering what you guys think.

You compare OpenSRS with Enom?

It is something like comparing Korean Cars with Benz and BMW :)

Both are cars even Korean may use less gas.
