View Full Version : alwayswebhosting down?
strudel 04-02-2002, 01:01 AM Greetings,
I signed up a couple days ago with alwayswebhosting because of recommendations from this site... now, I can't access their webpage at all.
Are they down? Have others experienced this with them?
e.
TheException 04-02-2002, 01:03 AM I have no problem accessing their site... are all of your internet settings correct? Was this just a one time thing, did you try back again after a few minutes? No website in the world can truley go forever without some form of downtime eventually.
strudel 04-02-2002, 01:11 AM Actually, I'm still trying to connect, but getting "server not found." I can connect to other websites, though (like this one). Maybe it's just some oddity between where I am and where they are.

TheException 04-02-2002, 01:42 AM Hello:
Its possible that somebody, either alwayswebhosting, or your ISP (I don't think anyone else can cause this) made a NS change (nameserver) and it is taking longer to update where you are...
or.....?
Jezner 04-02-2002, 04:01 AM I think server 4 had a problem and Ronnie was reseting it. Something weird happened with my site where all the permissions changed, but he's on the case.
alwaysweb 04-02-2002, 02:03 PM Hi gang,
We've had no problems with our site or connectivity, it might be a network issue or ISP problem as Exception mentioned.
The first three servers have been 100% fine, but we ran into a glitch or two on server4 last night, all fixed up. Actually, Jezner's account was the only one that still had lingering problems, but we set it up again and he should be good to go now! :)
Of course, if we did have downtime on our other servers I'd know, as my phone blows up, I get paged, called, emailed, IM'd, etc from our monitoring services. :D
I'll keep a close eye on it for you Strudel... If you told me your domain name via email (read: off the forums) I'd be happy to assist if you are still having problems. Thanks everyone!
circuit 04-02-2002, 05:02 PM I've been having problems getting to my own site (on AWH) all day today (I've been testing scripts, so have been trying to access it more than normal). It's down for a while and then comes back, then it's slow and then goes again.
I haven't had any outage reports from QWK.mon so I doubt that it's an actual outage, but it's strange that I'm having these problems. (I can get to other sites fine, and they all load quickly, as normal).
circuit 04-02-2002, 05:06 PM Just as I posted, it came back - and now my new FormMail doesn't take 90 seconds to submit :)
Good news.
circuit 04-02-2002, 07:30 PM ok now i can't get onto server4...
someone tell me, is this just my bad luck? because the sites seem to have been on and off on an hourly basis today. :(
Yea its happening to me here. Server 4 has been totally buggy since last night till now. I'm getting soo many MySql errors and unable to load errors, and i can't even reach the control panel. :( Hope Ronnie can get the server working properly sooner the better.
bully28 04-02-2002, 10:14 PM well, i've been there for almost a month and this is the first big flub, and it's a big one. no email all day, bouncing back to everyone who sends. i guess it couldn't happen at a worse time for me, but that's just my luck.
it's been down, server1, for six hours, at least for mail for me. ronnie was answering his phone but now i'ts on fast busy and the phone number and AIM have been taken off the home page.... say it ain't so ronnie!
bully28 04-02-2002, 10:17 PM they are also not responding to email. i don't like the looks of this at all, so i'm hoping alwayswebhosting has not met their limit.
I am on server 4 as well, and having problems you guys mentioned as well...my site will be avaliable on and off..., ftp is also on/off.... the site admin control panel...(enism)...hmm hopefully they will resolve the problem...(^^
alwaysweb 04-03-2002, 12:02 AM Hi Everyone,
I've been working non-stop on this issue (getting server4 serving sites smoothly again) and have with the help of an Ensim developer and several RackShack techs have finally determined it is a RAM failure problem -- they are in the process of replacing the RAM currently and it should be up asap.
Please rest assured that we are doing everything possible to get it solved asap, and we in no way have "met our limit" for customers, etc. Thanks for your time.
Feel free to email me, ronnie@alwayswebhosting.com

bully28 04-03-2002, 01:35 AM i'm up and running again, just a minor administrative issue so thanks ronnie for fixing quickly and following up personally (and by phone, mind you). reputation is still intact as far as i'm concerned!. :D
TheException 04-03-2002, 01:42 AM Sounds like you are doing an excellent job there Ronnie, I commend you :D
Too bad I am not looking for a web host right now.
Is anyone on server 4 still having problems? I just try to access my site, its down again..this is like 5 or 6 time its down and I am with AWH for less than a week..each down time last 45 mins...I don't want to over react, but I hope this is not a re-occuring situation....
Yep I`m on server 4 and my site is still inaccessible. Went ok for a while last night, but now it`s down again.
circuit 04-03-2002, 09:35 AM I have faith in Ronnie and AWH - it's just really frustrating to think of all the people who can't get to our site at the moment. I'm on Server4 and my site has been inaccessible almost daily for about a week - it was up about four hours ago, but it's gone again.
alwaysweb 04-03-2002, 09:55 AM Hi gang,
Lots of stress makes Ronnie a dull boy. :D

Ronnie
circuit 04-03-2002, 02:45 PM Out of interest, I wonder if email is being queued or is bouncing due to downtime? Does anyone know?
Don't want to bug Ronnie about this as I'm sure he's busy enough.
alwaysweb 04-03-2002, 02:57 PM Hi again,
<<Removed: Contact client directly>>
Sincerely,
Ronnie
circuit 04-03-2002, 03:02 PM Hi Ronnie, I emailed you about the possibility of moving my sites - don't worry about it, I'd rather leave them as they are - as I said before, I have faith and you are obviously on top of the problem.
AWH comes up tops again :D
TheException 04-03-2002, 07:59 PM I just have to say once again, good Job Ronnie. If I was hosting a website right now, I would be very pleased if it was with you.
Good Luck with your business in the future.
Hi Ronnie,
Thanks for the response...appreciated...I have some question about moving the site to server 3, please check the tickets..but really I would rather remain on server 4 for now, I know that you working on the problem...hope that it will be iron out soon... ;)
Chicken 04-04-2002, 12:58 AM Liz, email your support requests directly to your provier and please do not post them to the forum. This isn't a AWH support forum, and only discussions about AWH will be permitted to be posted.
Ronnie, email clients directly, please do not answer support requests on the forum (as they will be removed).
