1. Many of you know of the excellent services that skype offers. iam intrested in knowing the views of people about adding skypeIn #'s to your hosting business. If iam correct you can have a landline number in about 8 European countries(you receive calls in the skype app). Thats pretty good having a number in every country. You clients can easily call you anytime for support & feel free that they are backed up with your voice:stickout:

2. Or is it bad? Will people think that if you use skype, this means that your budget is low & you can't have an office in that country:confused: ?

Ofcoarse my opinion is the 1st. Its really good to have a number & your clients can feel safer with you. For us, we have already ordered a US number. This will improve your reputation in the market & you can be also called as a "local" host in every country where you have a #.

I know my post is a bit confusing.. Its bed time actually:)

Webhost owners, what do you think, is this an important step into the large competitive market? Iam sure it is.

not 100% sure but I think its the other way around, you can call numbers from your skype app, not people dialing numbers to have them connected to your skype service.

Nope, you can have numbers in various countries/cities that connect directly to your skype. But it isn't free.

As far as the original point goes, how will people know that you are using skype for your incoming calls? Answer, they won't.

I'd go for it. Get numbers in the countries where you have a lot of customers, but probably don't bother in countries where you have hardly any. :)

Another major advantage of this is in the UK you can also get free 0845 numbers. Which you can point to your skype in number.

This means you can give the customer a local rate no matter where they call from. I'm not sure if other countries offer the same.

Where do you get a free 0845 number?
The only ones I have seen cost a one off payment of around £10

Apparently, you can only register 3 SkypeIn numbers for each customer.

TO me, there is nothing wrong to have a Skype Number. More importantly, there is someone attending the number. Many others have offered LiveChat, etc but always offline.

You might want to read their FAQ...

Can I have my G0845 pointing to a mobile number?

No. Your G0845 receiving number must be an existing UK land line number.

Is that really legit?

Sorry what i ment was is this free phone number thing really free? and you can defently redirect to your Skypein number? I'm think of purchasing a Skypein number because it could really benifit my company really. It would be really cool if i could get a free 0845 number and also have 2 skype addresses. UK and USA.

Plus for only £6 for 3 months of a Skypein number, thats great.
