What advertising companies are good to sign up with now (both CPC and CPM)?!

Damn, rushed in here think you found a new one :). I'd say http://www.allclicks.com is the best CPC while there isn't a good CPM unless your selling your own advertising.

They offer both of CPM and CPC campaign.

Once you get millions page views per mo, try the big boys like doubleclick.

Before selling FlashPlanet I was with Burtmedia, they take 50% of everything plus they don't pay you for the nr1 ISP (usually AOL.com, which means 50% of your income). There won't be much left.

But I'm gonna check out AllClicks.com

I just checked AllClicks.com and they pay $.03/click, that is not much at all. ValueClick.com pays $.10-$.20/click, but I don't know how good and honest they are. I guess the good thing about AllClicks.com is that (from what I understood) you can pretty much link anything you want.

I remember the good old days when you got atleast $5/CPM from advertising companies. :(

The reason http://www.allclicks.com is so low is because you can link pretty much anything to them rather than a standard banner made by Flycast.

Wasn't that two weeks ago? hhmm It actually started out with the CPC companies if i'm not mistaken, then CPM just kinda came and went.

I would also recommend Burst! I use them on my sites and normally get decent CPM and CPC prices. You don't have to get an amazing number of impressions on your site either-- I think the number right now is 5000 a month.

You might of course check out http://www.cj.com -- Commission Junction. With careful ad picks, we do well with them; and they pay on time... lol.

Another to check out would be http://www.BeFree.com -- same comments.

As a rule, we try to keep several different ad companies on tap at all times.

I might just do that. I have an account with CJ since a few months back. Never used them on a site though. And I guess I could go with Bustmedia, atleast till I start getting enough impressions to host my own ads or go with a better company.

With respect, Zolbian, we never release figures about anything, to anyone... lol. That way live demons.

However, the ads we seem to do best with are closely targeted to our audience (our demographic is 100% web builders)... and we seem to do best with the higher paying 'pay per action' ads, rather than pay-per-click ads.

I created a smartzone at CJ and added it to my page, it seems to be working except for one little thing.. It seems to be forgetting to show a banner from time to time (20-30% of the time). I have 9 banners in my SZ and waiting to be accepted by a few more. Have you had this problem or know how to fix this?

Ok, I just made a test on my page. Just a little info.. I have 9 banners in my rotation and they are all set to be shown as much as possible. The test is for 30 page views (no reloads).

No Banner: 19

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the error is on their side. I also loaded their .js alone and most of the time it was document.write(' '); which is empty. I have send an email to them, but I don't think they will be answering any time soon (due to holidays).

Zolbian, I'd be happy to help if I could, here; but, fact is, I've never even looked at the CJ Smart Zones feature.

All our ads run off our own ad rotator scripts, so I just use the standard HTML code.

Just a guess, but look your code over very, very carefully... maybe check it in Netscape 3 or 4 with the javascript: trick. Sounds like you might have a minor error causing this.

I have seen some cgi work really good.

If at all possible, I really think it's a better idea to run your own rotators. It gives you better, faster control and tracking, if the script is at all decent.

One of the down-sides of CJ is that their site tends to be very slow and cumbersome; and this also isn't the first time I've heard of problems getting the Smart Zones feature to work properly.

You might check over http://www.HotScripts.com for ad rotator scripts -- there are quite a lot of good ones available, many free, for both Perl and PHP.

I don't like to use other peoples scripts. I wrote one of those script for a advertising company before, but I don't need that advanced for a single site. I will make a new simpler one.
