While internal to the network, I can send and receive emails. However, when external, such as going to the internet, accessing yahoo mail, I get the following error:

Message from yahoo.com.
Unable to deliver message to the following address(es).

<keith@getadeal.com>:
63.145.181.67 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 <keith@getadeal.com>... Relaying denied.
Please check your mail first or restart your mail session.
Giving up on 63.145.181.67.

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

I have three cobalt servers, two are dns servers and one is a mail server. The dns servers are dns3.applelaptopbattery.com and dns4.applelaptopbattery.com. The mail server is pop3.getadeal.com.

I created a MX record on both DNS3 & dns4, added an A record on dns3 & dns4 for pop3.getadeal.com. Also, I added all the IP addresses for the email receipients of pop3.getadeal.com, pop3.getadeal.com, www.getadeal.com, and getadeal.com into the Relay for the following Hosts/Domains on dns3 & dns4. Also the email service is enabled on dns3 & dns4.

I then setup the email service on pop3.getadeal.com, added all the ip addresses of the email reciepients, the domain names, mail.getadeal.com, getadeal.com, www.getadeal.com,and pop3.getadeal.com to the relay box on email services. I then added getadeal.com and pop3.getadeal.com to the web aliases and email aliases.

I am perplexed as to why email is not working.

Help!!!!!! What does this mean and how do I fix it?

If you have Pop before Smtp enabled....this is the message you will have. If it cannot find the POP account you are using, (meaning if it is not valid, it wont allow you to use the servers smtp)

I didnt know you can use yahoo to check your account's pop mail?????

I simply sent an email from yahoo and hotmail to my pop3 mail account. I finally got the email from hotmail and the error is a bit different:

The original message was received at Sun, 31 Mar 2002 10:30:26 -0800
from oe26.law3.hotmail.com [209.185.240.19]

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<keith@getadeal.com>
(reason: system config error)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
553 5.3.5 getadeal.com. config error: mail loops back to me (MX problem?)
554 5.3.5 <keith@getadeal.com>... Local configuration error

any ideas?

I must admit you totally lost me with the story about how you configured everything but here is how it should be"

On both the primary and secondary DNS servers as well as on the mail server add these lines in the DNS entries:

mail.getadeal.com ---> IP Address
and the MX record.

Thats about it. No need to make it more complicated.
