My web host (Virtualscape) says standard HTML sites should get a dedicated server when they exceed 500,000 page views per month. Database driven sites should get one with fewer page views. Does this sound reasonable? Might it depend more on bandwidth or use of server resources?
What are the primary advantages of getting a dedicated server?
Are there any decent dedicated plans for under $60/month?

If you do a search, you'll find many reasons for getting a dedicated server. They vary with the individual. For many of us, it was not having to deal with apathetic nincompoops in tech support and having full control of the server. Your reasons may vary.

Surely you jest. At that price, you won't find any indecent ones either. $99 seems to be about the lowest price around, and that's for a basic Cobalt RAQ server.
If your budget is in that range ($60), forget about a dedicated server.

hehe ***nincompoops***
I haven't heard that word in a while, and clearly describes why I decided to go dedicated.
You won't find anything cheaper than $99/month. And 4webspace seems to be one of the few good providers at that price.

Considering the season and all, I thought nincompoops more suitable than fargin bastages, though the latter is closer to the truth.
Well you can get colo for under $60 at http://www.webpipe.net/ but you don't get much bandwidth. They do have very good technical support, I use to colo a celeron rig there, until I realised it was pointless.
