Hi,

I'm going to offer my users real audio files and I was thinking about installing the free version of realserver which can handle up to 25 simultaneous.

Before installing I wanted to see if anyone has any experience installing or using this software!? I'm guessing I need to su to root before installing this since it only requires 1 installation.

Will your Raq be able to take the load of the Real Server? You got enough RAM for it?

I have 128mb of RAM in it at the moment. I just don't want people to take my real audio files.

doh..i thought our raqs already come with software to stream ra files.

He is going to use RealServer, you can stream it without it but not as well without the server installed. Sure you know this. Pointless post, I know.

So noone has any experience with this? I didn't want to install something as root and maybe cause problems (spccially now that I've got everything working).

I'd suggest searching the cobalt mailing list archives for realserver and seeing what comes up.
